Evaluation of the influence of abiotic environmental factors on the cob structure elements formation of sweet corn cultivar samples in the Saratov Region

open access: yesАграрная наука Евро-Северо-Востока
For successful cultivation and production of sweet corn (Zea maуs var. saccharata) in the risk farming zone, a detailed study of the adaptive capacity of new cultivars and hybrids is necessary.

Reduction of Deoxynivalenol in Wheat with Superheated Steam and Its Effects on Wheat Quality

open access: yesToxins, 2019
Deoxynivalenol (DON) is the most commonly found mycotoxin in scabbed wheat. In order to reduce the DON concentration in scabbed wheat with superheated steam (SS) and explore the feasibility to use the processed wheat as crisp biscuit materials, wheat ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Assessment of the influence of cytoplasmic effect on the biochemical composition of sorghum grain lines

open access: yesАграрная наука Евро-Северо-Востока
The study reports on an investigation of the biochemical composition (fat, fiber, starch, protein, nitrogen-free extracts (NFE), tannin) in the seeds of 7 CMS grain sorghum lines with different types of sterile cytoplasm (A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, 9E) with the

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Brown Mid-Rib Corn Population Trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Brown mid-rib (BMR) corn hybrids are of interest to many growers in the Northeast who would like to maximize milk production on homegrown forage. BMR corn has a naturally-occurring genetic mutation that leads to less lignin in the stalk and makes corn ...
