Effects of adding corn oil and soy protein to corn starch on the physicochemical and digestive properties of the starch

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2017
This study aimed to understand effects of adding corn oil (CO) and soy protein (SP) to corn starch on the physicochemical properties and digestive rates of annealed starch complex and mechanisms of interactions between corn starch (CS), CO and SP.

Effect of Resistant Starch on Hydrolysis and Fermentation of Corn Starch for Ethanol

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2009
Starch samples with 0% or 30% amylose were subjected to four different liquefaction enzyme treatments (at various temperature and pH conditions) followed by simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF). Resistant starch (RS) measurements were conducted for the initial starch sample, after liquefaction and after SSF. Initial RS was higher for 30%

Studies on Pyrodextrinization of Corn Starch

Starch - Stärke, 1976
AbstractDuring pyrodextrinization of corn starch in the absence of any added catalyst under different experimental conditions, the changes of dextrinization might have two or threes stages and remarkable transformation would begin to occur at 190°C. At higher temperatures, many non‐carbohydrates are found.

THE VISCOSITY OF CORN STARCH PASTES

Canadian Journal of Research, 1936
Several series of modified corn starches covering a wide range of fluidities were prepared from corn starch treated with varying dilutions of hydrochloric acid at 50 °C. The fluidities were measured by means of a standard fluidity funnel, and the effect of acid concentration on the speed of modification was noted.

Ozone oxidation of corn starch

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1964
AbstractThe oxidation of granular corn starch with ozone under various conditions was investigated. The reaction was found to be influenced by water, with the highest degree of oxidation being obtained at 23°C. in an aqueous solution of acetic acid as the suspending medium.
