Time-Correlated Structure in Spin Fluctuations in Pulsars

open access: yes, 2012
We study statistical properties of stochastic variations in pulse arrival times, timing noise, in radio pulsars using a new analysis method applied in the time domain. The method proceeds in two steps. First, we subtract low-frequency wander using a high-

Gaussian fluctuations for random matrices with correlated entries

open access: yes, 2006
For random matrix ensembles with non-gaussian matrix elements that may exhibit some correlations, it is shown that centered traces of polynomials in the matrix converge in distribution to a Gaussian process whose covariance matrix is diagonal in the ...

Fluctuation Corrections for Correlated Random Copolymers [PDF]

open access: yesMacromolecules, 1998
Fluctuation effects on the order-disorder transition (ODT) in correlated random copolymers (polydisperse A/B multiblock copolymers with block lengths having an exponential Flory distribution, and a large average number of blocks per chain) are studied with due regard for the strong temperature dependence of the period of the arising ordered phases ...

Correlated Fluctuations in Strongly Coupled Binary Networks Beyond Equilibrium

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2016
Randomly coupled Ising spins constitute the classical model of collective phenomena in disordered systems, with applications covering glassy magnetism and frustration, combinatorial optimization, protein folding, stock market dynamics, and social ...

Correlated mesoscopic fluctuations in integer quantum Hall transitions

open access: yes, 2005
We investigate the origin of the resistance fluctuations of mesoscopic samples, near transitions between Quantum Hall plateaus. These fluctuations have been recently observed experimentally by E. Peled et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 90, 246802 (2003); ibid 90,

Femtosecond X-rays illuminate disordered states during the early stages of crystallization

open access: yesIUCrJ
Crystallization is a fundamental non-equilibrium process in materials science, yet its early transient states remain difficult to probe experimentally. Möller et al. [(2025). IUCrJ 12, 462–471] use femtosecond X-ray scattering and X-ray cross-correlation

Effect of noise on the power spectrum of passively mode-locked lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We analyze the effects of noise on the power spectrum of pulse trains generated by a continuously operating passively mode-locked laser. The shape of the different harmonics of the power spectrum is calculated in the presence of correlated timing ...

Correlations and fluctuations in STAR [PDF]

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2004
We report measurements for the balance function, transverse momentum fluctuations, and net charge fluctuations from Au+Au collisions at 20, 130, and 200 GeV as well as p+p and d+Au collisions at 200 GeV using STAR at RHIC. For Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV, we observe a narrowing of the balance function in central collisions.

Mesoscopic Fluctuations of Elastic Cotunneling in Coulomb Blockaded Quantum Dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We report measurements of mesoscopic fluctuations of elastic cotunneling in Coulomb blockaded quantum dots. Unlike resonant tunneling on Coulomb peaks, cotunneling in the valleys is sensitive to charging effects.

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.
