This study finds that CD8⁺ TSCM cells exhibit superior self‐renewal, differentiation, and antiviral activity. Transcriptome and epigenome analyses highlight MAPK cascade regulation in TSCM cells. In vivo, virus‐specific TSCM cells show enhanced persistence and tumor protection.

Viremia in human Cowpox virus infection
Several poxviruses can infect humans and cause diseases of varying severity. Besides the eradicated Variola virus that induced high mortality rates, numerous further human pathogenic orthopoxviruses are potentially fatal but generally cause less severe infections.

This study identifies a new viral mechanism by a viral protein σ3 that functions as a vTR to suppress NF‐κB gene expression via its direct interaction with the host helicase DHX9. Through their interaction, σ3 not only impairs the initial recruitment of Pol II but also affects Pol II pause‐release and ultimately suppresses NF‐κB gene expression ...

CD20⁺FCRL4⁺ B cells in nasopharyngeal carcinoma actively cross‐present exogenous tumor antigens via MHC‐I, enhancing CD8⁺ T‐cell activation, memory formation, and cytotoxicity. IFNγ‐driven WDFY4 upregulation facilitates this process. These findings reveal an unconventional B‐cell–mediated antitumor mechanism and indicate potential relevance to ...

Cowpox Virus Transmission from Rats to Monkeys, the Netherlands
We report an outbreak of cowpox virus among monkeys at a sanctuary for exotic animals. Serologic analysis and polymerase chain reaction were performed on blood and swab samples from different rodent species trapped at the sanctuary during the outbreak ...

Structural conservation and functional diversity of the Poxvirus Immune Evasion (PIE) domain superfamily [PDF]
Poxviruses encode a broad array of proteins that serve to undermine host immune defenses. Structural analysis of four of these seemingly unrelated proteins revealed the recurrent use of a conserved beta-sandwich fold that has not been observed in any ...

An intelligent early warning and treatment system for monkeypox, utilizing a sprayable AIEgen‐ liquid dressing (AIE@LD) that responds to lesion pH. Integrated with a smartphone app and cloud platform, it enables real‐time infection detection via fluorescence imaging and triggers on‐demand photodynamic therapy under white light, effectively eradicating ...

Eczema Monkeypoxicum Following Sexual Transmission Treated With Tecovirimat
ABSTRACT Mpox is a zoonotic viral infection caused by monkeypox virus (MPXV) and risk factors for its dissemination include previous dermatoses such as atopic dermatitis [1]. We present the case of a 30‐year‐old male with an unusual and extensive presentation of mpox following unprotected sexual intercourse, with an excellent response to tecovirimat ...

DNA viruses, like poxviruses, possess a highly stable genome, suggesting that adaptation of virus particles to specific cell types is not restricted to genomic changes.

Emergence of cowpox: study of the virulence of clinical strains and evaluation of antivirals. [PDF]
The last years, cowpox infections are being increasingly reported through Eurasia. Cowpox viruses (CPXVs) have been reported to have different genotypes and may be subdivided in at least five genetically distinct monophyletic clusters. However, little is
