Leveraging petrophysical and geological constraints for AI-driven predictions of total organic carbon (TOC) and hardness in unconventional reservoir prospects

open access: yesGeomechanics and Geophysics for Geo-Energy and Geo-Resources
Key parameters for evaluating shale reservoirs include total organic carbon (TOC), thermal maturity, and hardness, the latter influencing fracture development and being crucial for managing ultralow permeability reservoirs.

Ketogenic Diet as an Epigenetic Therapy in SETD1B‐Related Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Histone lysine methyltransferases such as SETD1B regulate chromatin structure and gene transcription. Ketone bodies, including butyrate, act as histone deacetylase inhibitors. We report a 4‐year‐old boy with SETD1B‐related absence epilepsy, refractory to conventional medications, who achieved sustained > 90% seizure reduction on the Modified ...

Estimation of fracture half-length with fast Gaussian pressure transient and RTA methods: Wolfcamp shale formation case study

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2023
Accurate estimation of fracture half-lengths in shale gas and oil reservoirs is critical for optimizing stimulation design, evaluating production potential, monitoring reservoir performance, and making informed economic decisions.

Distribution of DNA methylation, CpGs, and CpG islands in human isochores

open access: yesGenomics, 2010
DNA methylation is a major epigenetic modification of the genome that affects basic biological functions, such as gene expression and cell development. We used the human genome sequences and the DNA methylation data that are available in order to establish a map of the levels of GC and methylation in isochores.

Mycophenolate Mofetil Treatment Reduces the Risk of Treatment Escalation Due to Vascular Complications in Limited Cutaneous Systemic Sclerosis: Emulation of a Target Trial From the Italian Rheumatology Society SPRING Registry

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon because of the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.

HPLC-MS method development and validation for simultaneous quantitation of GZK-111 and CPG compounds in rat plasma

open access: yesФармакокинетика и Фармакодинамика, 2020
The technique of quantitative determination of GZK-111 and CPG compounds in rat blood plasma has been developed. The analysis was carried out using the combined method of high-performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric detection.

Selective and Precise Editing of Digital Polymers Through Parallel or Series Toehold‐Mediated Strand Displacement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sequence‐encoded supramolecular construct containing two accessible toeholds is developed herein for enabling multiple editing operations. By introducing specific input strands, it is possible to selectively erase or rewrite digital content through parallel or series toehold‐mediated strand displacement (PTMSD or STMSD).

A Toll for lupus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Toll-like receptor (TLR)-9 recognizes CpG motifs in microbial DNA. TLR9 signalling stimulates innate antimicrobial immunity and modulates adaptive immune responses including autoimmunity against chromatin, e.g., in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE ...

No CpGs for AAVs? [PDF]

open access: yesBlood, 2021
In this issue of Blood, Konkle et al report that 7 of 8 participants in a phase 1/2 trial of adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector (BAX335) for factor IX (FIX)-Padua gene transfer in patients with hemophilia B did not maintain expression despite steroid intervention, which the authors hypothesize is a result of the innate immune stimulatory effect of ...
