Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Rheopexy and tunable yield stress of carbon black suspensions [PDF]
We show that besides simple or thixotropic yield stress fluids there exists a third class of yield stress fluids. This is illustrated through the rheological behavior of a carbon black suspension, which is shown to exhibit a viscosity bifurcation effect ...

A Study of Pulsating Stress Creep Characteristics (II)
Most of machines, vessels and others for high-temperature service are not static in their load or stress in actual service but vary in some regular or irregular manner depending on the operating conditions. In designing and manufacturing these products, therefore, the flow or creep properties and rupture characteristics of used materials and their ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The development of creep damage constitutive equations for low Cr-Mo alloy steel and its weldment at low stress [PDF]
The ultimate objective of this research project is to develop creep damage constitutive equations for low Cr-Mo alloy and its weldment under low stress (0.2-0.4 yield stress,σ_Y).

Dynamic mechanical properties of oral mucosa: comparison with polymeric soft denture liners. [PDF]
The purpose of this work was to characterize the viscoelastic behaviour of oral mucosa and compare it with the dynamic mechanical properties of different soft liners. For this purpose, a sample of pig oral mucosa and six commercialized soft liner samples

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Creep Behavior of Saturated Clay in Triaxial Test and a Hyperbolic Model
As one of the basic mechanical properties of soil, the creep property of a given type soil is related to stress path, and stress level. In this paper, triaxial shear creep tests under different deviatoric stress levels were performed on both intact ...
