Associations between cardiovascular risk factors, disease activity and cardiorespiratory fitness in patients with inflammatory joint disease: a cross-sectional analysis

open access: yesBMC Sports Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation, 2023
Background Inflammatory joint diseases (IJD) are accompanied by an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) is a modifiable CVD risk factor and low levels of CRF associate with an elevated CVD risk. This study aimed

Discriminative Training of Deep Fully-connected Continuous CRF with Task-specific Loss

open access: yes, 2016
Recent works on deep conditional random fields (CRF) have set new records on many vision tasks involving structured predictions. Here we propose a fully-connected deep continuous CRF model for both discrete and continuous labelling problems. We exemplify

Patient‐Mounted Neuro Optical Coherence Tomography for Targeted Minimally Invasive Micro‐Resolution Volumetric Imaging in Brain In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
Herein, a patient‐mounted neuro optical coherence tomography system that integrates a 5 degrees‐of‐freedom skull‐mounted robot (Skullbot) with a 0.6 mm neuroendoscope for targeted, minimally invasive deep brain imaging, is developed. The system offers high‐resolution imaging with precise deployment, demonstrated through successful tumor imaging in a ...

Expression of corticotropin releasing factor (CRF) in the enteric nervous system of the jejunum of sheep

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2011
Corticotropin releasing factor (CRF), a 41-amino acid neuropeptide widely distributed in the mammalian central nervous system, has been shown to influence several gastrointestinal functions.

Lifelong Learning CRF for Supervised Aspect Extraction

open access: yes, 2017
This paper makes a focused contribution to supervised aspect extraction. It shows that if the system has performed aspect extraction from many past domains and retained their results as knowledge, Conditional Random Fields (CRF) can leverage this ...

Upsampling DINOv2 Features for Unsupervised Vision Tasks and Weakly Supervised Materials Segmentation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Feature from recent image foundation models (DINOv2) are useful for vision tasks (segmentation, object localization) with little or no human input. Once upsampled, they can be used for weakly supervised micrograph segmentation, achieving strong results when compared to classical features (blurs, edge detection) across a range of material systems.

Robotic Arm‐Assisted Conformal 3D Printing of Displays for Structural Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents a robotics‐enabled platform combining 3D scanning and a 6‐DOF robotic arm for conformal printing on complex non‐planar structures. By maintaining nozzle perpendicularity, the system enables high‐fidelity direct ink writing on steep sidewalls, spherical surfaces, successfully demonstrating a fully printed 7‐segment dynamic display ...

AGILE: a seamless phase I/IIa platform for the rapid evaluation of candidates for COVID-19 treatment: an update to the structured summary of a study protocol for a randomised platform trial letter

open access: yesTrials, 2021
Background There is an urgent unmet clinical need for the identification of novel therapeutics for the treatment of COVID-19. A number of COVID-19 late phase trial platforms have been developed to investigate (often repurposed) drugs both in the UK and ...
