Impact of Japan's 2024 Physician Work‐Style Reform on Pediatric Hematology–Oncology: Educational Implications in a 2‐Year Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan's 2024 physician work‐style reform introduced legally binding limits on physicians’ working hours, but its impact on education and workforce sustainability in pediatric hematology–oncology (PHO) remains unclear. Procedure We conducted a repeated cross‐sectional study with structured quantitative items and free‐text responses ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Experimental Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Printed Circuit Board Strain-Based Methodology in Space-Borne Electronics with Vertically Mounted Printed Circuit Boards

open access: yesAerospace
The Oh-Park methodology was proposed to overcome the limitations of Steinberg’s theory for evaluating the structural safety of space-borne electronics and has been experimentally verified at the printed circuit board (PCB) specimen level for various ...

Dynamic Recrystallization Behavior and Critical Conditions of SiCp/A1-Cu Composite

open access: yesJournal of Aeronautical Materials, 2017
Using the Gleeble-1500D simulator, the high temperature plastic deformation behavior of 40%SiCP/Al-Cu composite were investigated at 350-500℃ with the strain rate of 0.01-10 s-1. The stress-strain curves were obtained during the tests.

Direct measurement of intrinsic critical strain and internal strain in barrier films [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2011
Resistance measurements during uniaxial tensile deformation of very thin (10 nm) conducting oxide films deposited on 150 nm SiN films on polyethylene naphthalate are discussed. It is first shown that certain characteristics of resistance versus strain curves are representative for the fracture behavior of the SiN film and not for that of the thin ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
