The strain-dependence of the critical current density in the high-field superconductor Nb(_3)Sn [PDF]
Measurements of the critical current density (J_c) of Nb(_3)Sn superconducting wires were performed as a function of magnetic field (B ≤ 23 T), temperature (4.2 K ≤ T ≤ 12 K), and axial strain (-1.6% ≤ ɛ ≤ 0.7%).

Strain-Stiffening of Agarose Gels
Strain-stiffening is one of the characteristic properties of biological hydrogels and extracellular matrices, where the stiffness increases upon increased deformation.

On the stress update algorithm of an advanced critical state elasto-plastic model and the effect of yield function equation [PDF]
This paper investigates the computational performance of S-CLAY1S constitutive model by varying its yield function equation. S-CLAY1S is an advanced anisotropic elasto-plastic model that has been developed based on the extension of conventional critical ...

The present study posits that variations in maximum shear strain energy are the principal determinants for the onset of fretting fatigue cracks. We propose a refined critical plane methodology, termed the shear stress-strain interaction (SSI) critical ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Theoretical and experimental considerations of the critical current density of DI-BiSCCO superconducting tapes as a function of magnetic field, field orientation, temperature and strain [PDF]
The critical current density (Jc) of DI-BiSCCO superconducting tapes was measured as a function of magnetic field (B), field orientation (θ), temperature (T) and strain (e) in a 15 T split-pair horizontal superconducting magnet using probes designed and ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Investigation of advanced strain-path dependent material models for sheet metal forming simulations [PDF]
Sheet metal forming processes often involve complex loading sequences. To improve the prediction of some undesirable phenomena, such as springback, physical behavior models should be considered.
