Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Modelling of Damage in Orthotropic Materials: Including Strain-Softening Effects in Dynamic Problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Damage models are developed within the continuum damage mechanics framework which allows the description of material degeneration with general constitutive equations.

Strain-Controllable Phase and Magnetism Transitions in Re-Doped MoTe2 Monolayer

open access: yes, 2020
Developing approaches to effectively manipulate the magnetic states and phase transition is critical to the application of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) in spintronic or phase-switching devices.

Pavement Distress, Road Safety, and Speed Limit Selection: An Integrated Mechanistic–Quantitative Approach

open access: yesFuture Transportation
Speed management plays a critical role in road safety; however, conventional speed limits are determined based on characteristics such as geometry and traffic volume.

Effects of Coal Deformation on Different-Phase CO2 Permeability in Sub-Bituminous Coal: An Experimental Investigation

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Coal deformation is one of the leading problems for carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration in coal seams especially with respect to different-phase CO2 injection.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Modelling of behaviour of metals at high strain rates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to produce the improvement of the existing simulation tools used for the analysis of materials and structures, which are dynamically loaded and subjected to the different levels of temperatures and strain ...

Discontinuous modelling of strain localisation and failure

open access: yes, 2001
The computational simulation of failure in solids poses many challenges. A proper understanding of how structures respond under loading, both before and past the peak load, is important for safe and economical constructions.

Dynamic recrystallization behavior and processing maps of 5CrNiMoV steel during hot deformation

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2023
Hot deformation tests of 5CrNiMoV steel were performed at deformation temperatures of 700 to 870 °C and strain rates of 0.001 to 0.1 s ^−1 using the DIL 805D thermomechanical simulator.
