Merging Biocatalysis and Chemocatalysis in Flow: State‐of‐the‐Art and Future Directions for Sustainable Synthesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 25, 15 June 2026.
This review highlights recent advances in integrating biocatalysis and chemocatalysis in continuous flow to create streamlined, sustainable processes. It examines chemo‐enzymatic cascades combining at least one enzymatic and one chemical step, discusses challenges such as enzyme immobilization, leaching, and reactor clogging, and presents solutions ...

Olefin cross metathesis based de novo synthesis of a partially protected L-amicetose and a fully protected L-cinerulose derivative

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
Cross metathesis of a lactate derived allylic alcohol and acrolein is the entry point to a de novo synthesis of 4-benzoate protected L-amicetose and a cinerulose derivative protected at C5 and C1.

Cross Carbonyl‐Olefin Metathesis of Unactivated Olefins

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 13, 2 July 2026.
A method for the olefination of aryl aldehydes with unactivated alkenes via cross carbonyl‐olefin metathesis is described. Reaction of an aldehyde substrate with a cis−1,2‐disubstituted or monosubstituted olefin using the HBF4 salt of 2,3‐diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane results in high‐yielding olefination with exclusive trans stereoselectivity. The reaction

Together We Are Stronger: An Unexpected Synergistic Effect During Anionic Ligand Exchange in Ruthenium Olefin Metathesis Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 13, 2 July 2026.
Combining dichloro and diiodo ruthenium catalysts produces mixed chloro–iodo species via in situ halide exchange, resulting in a new, more efficient catalytic system. The mixed catalysts outperform their homo‐anionic counterparts, delivering enhanced activity, higher conversion, and strong suppression of isomerization under both thermal and ...

Structurally Constrained Stibenium: Metallomimetic C−Si Bond Activation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 25, 15 June 2026.
A structurally constrained stibenium cation supported by a 2,6‐bis(o‐carborano)pyridine pincer‐type ligand was prepared, and its preliminary reactivity toward silanes was investigated. Remarkably, Si−C bonds in silanes undergo activation via an oxidative‐addition‐type process at the cationic Sb center.

An Exploration of Vinamidinium Salts for Frame‐Shifted Synthesis

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 66, Issue 4, July 2026.
Oligoheterocycles are widely used in drug discovery and materials science, where they serve as attractive alternatives to peptide fragments. There is strong interest in understanding the structural correspondence between heterocycles and amino acid motifs to recapitulate key binding elements while improving metabolic stability.

C-Glycosidic Genistein Conjugates and Their Antiproliferative Activity

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2013
This paper presents our attempt to investigate scopes and the limitations of olefin cross-metathesis (CM) reaction in the synthesis of complex C-glycosides of genistein and evaluation of their antiproliferative activities. Novel genistein glycoconjugates

Morphological Control of Aurophilic Chains of Gold(I) Dithiolate Dimers With Alkali and Alkali Earth Cations

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 24, 23 June 2026.
Luminescent coordination polymers of Group 1 (Li, K, Cs) and 2 (Mg─Ba) cations with gold(I) iso‐maleonitriledithiolate ({Au2[S2C = C(CN)2]}2−) units were prepared; 1‐D aurophilic chains are present in all cases. The structures strongly depend on cation charge and size, with N‐cyano coordination observed in the Gp 1 and larger Gp 2 cations. Increasingly

Diversity-oriented synthesis of analogues of the novel macrocyclic peptide FR-225497 through late stage functionalization

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
A concise synthetic approach to a class of biologically interesting cyclic tetrapeptides is reported which involves a late-stage functionalization of a macrocyclic scaffold through cross metathesis in an attempt to create diversity.
