Rakicidin C, A New Cyclic Depsipeptide fromStreptomycessp.

European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2000
Chemical screening of extracts of Actinomycetes strains has led to the detection, isolation, and structure elucidation of the new cyclic depsipeptide rakicidin C (1). The secondary metabolite from Streptomyces sp. (strain GT 61042) is built-up from glutamine, N-methyl glycine, 4-amino-(2E,4)-pentadienoic acid, and 3-hydroxy-2,4,6,8-tetramethylnonanoic ...

Diverse Synthesis of Marine Cyclic Depsipeptide Lagunamide A and Its Analogues

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2013
The asymmetric total synthesis of lagunamide A (3.0%, 20 steps longest linear sequence) and its five analogues, including the structure dehydrated at the C37 position, are detailed in this report. The key feature in this diverse synthesis includes the elaboration of four consecutive chiral centers at C37-40 and the final macrocyclization. Starting from

Synthesis and biological evaluation of analogues of the marine cyclic depsipeptide obyanamide

Journal of Peptide Science, 2011
AbstractOn the basis of the total synthesis of obyanamide, 20 analogues of this marine cyclic depsipeptide have been synthesized by (i) preparation of the tripeptide fragments in the western hemisphere using Z/OtBu protocol; (ii) preparation of the dipeptide fragments in the eastern hemisphere using Boc/OMe protocol; and (iii) fragments coupling ...

The Relationship between Prodigiosin Biosynthesis and Cyclic Depsipeptides in Serratia marcescens

Journal of General Microbiology, 1971
SUMMARY: The concentrations of lipid-bound serine (in the form of cyclic depsipeptide) and prodigiosin, in Serratia marcescens respond similarly to changes in environmental or cultural conditions so that highly pigmented cells always have a relatively large amount of lipid-bound serine.

Interaction of cyclic peptides and depsipeptides with calmodulin.

Peptide research, 1992
A variety of small peptides bind calmodulin (CaM) and inhibit CaM-dependent enzyme activity. The cyclic peptides cyclosporin A (CSA) and gramicidin-S (GRS) are shown to bind CaM and inhibit 3',5'-cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) in a calcium-dependent manner.
