This study presents a new biodegradable coating for titanium implants using a natural antimicrobial peptide, caerin 1.9. Applied via solvent casting, the coating offers sustained antibacterial protection and promotes healing. Tested on 3D‐printed porous titanium scaffolds, it effectively prevented infection—including against resistant bacteria—while ...

Synthesis and Antimalarial Evaluation of Cyclic β-Amino Acid-Containing Dipeptides
This paper describes an efficient synthesis and the antiparasitic evaluation ofcyclic β-amino acid-containing dipeptides 3.1-3.6 and 4.1-4.5. The antimalarial propertiesof all these dipeptides have been evaluated in vitro against Plasmodium falciparum

Engineered GM1 Intersects Between Mitochondrial and Synaptic Pathways to Ameliorate ALS Pathology
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease driven by genetic and molecular disruptions affecting energy balance, protein homeostasis, and stress responses in nerve cells. Studies using human and rodent models identified convergent defects in mitochondria and synaptic function.

An Update on 2,5-Diketopiperazines from Marine Organisms
2,5-Diketopiperazines (2,5-DKPs) are an important category of structurally diverse cyclic dipeptides with prominent biological properties. These 2,5-DKPs have been obtained from a variety of natural resources, including marine organisms.

Enhanced sampling of multidimensional free-energy landscapes using adaptive biasing forces
We propose an adaptive biasing algorithm aimed at enhancing the sampling of multimodal measures by Langevin dynamics. The underlying idea consists in generalizing the standard adaptive biasing force method commonly used in conjunction with molecular ...

Synthesis of new beta-amidodehydroaminobutyric acid derivatives and of new tyrosine derivatives using copper catalyzed C-N and C-O coupling reactions [PDF]
Several beta-amidodehydroaminobutyric acid derivatives were prepared from N,C-diprotected beta-bromodehydroaminobutyric acids and amides by a copper catalyzed C-N coupling reaction.

This study reveals that FAP promotes thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) through a nonenzymatic mechanism involving fibroblast‐macrophage crosstalk via the FAP/PLAUR/ITGB1/FAK axis. Targeting this pathway might offer a promising therapeutic strategy for TAD.

Alphaviral Capsid Proteins Inhibit Stress Granule Assembly via Competitive RNA Binding With G3BP1
Stress granules exert antiviral functions. This study illustrates a conserved function of alphaviral capsid proteins in modulating stress granules. Oligomerization mediated by a helical motif coupled with a positively charged intrinsically disordered region (IDR) directly competes with G3BP1 for RNA binding, thereby disrupting G3BP1‐RNA liquid–liquid ...

Biomimetic epoxidation in aqueous media catalyzed by cyclic dipeptides [PDF]
We have developed a practical epoxidation of electron-deficient enones in aqueous media using cyclic dipeptides as bioinspired green catalyst. Optimizing the reaction conditions in a triphasic system led to efficient conditions providing epoxides with good enantioselectivities.
