We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Efficiency at maximum power: An analytically solvable model for stochastic heat engines
We study a class of cyclic Brownian heat engines in the framework of finite-time thermodynamics. For infinitely long cycle times, the engine works at the Carnot efficiency limit producing, however, zero power. For the efficiency at maximum power, we find

CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Effects of cationic antimicrobial peptides on liquid-preserved boar spermatozoa. [PDF]
Antibiotics are mandatory additives in semen extenders to control bacterial contamination. The worldwide increase in resistance to conventional antibiotics requires the search for alternatives not only for animal artificial insemination industries, but ...

The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Development of a Molecular-Imprinted-Polymer based sensor for the electrochemical determination of Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP) [PDF]
.The explosive triacetone triperoxide (TATP), which can be prepared from commercially readily available reagents following an easy synthetic procedure, is one of the most common components of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Mobility restrictions in response to local epidemic outbreaks in rock-paper-scissors models
We study a three-species cyclic model whose organisms are vulnerable to contamination with an infectious disease which propagates person-to-person. We consider that individuals of one species perform a self-preservation strategy by reducing the mobility ...

The research course in the estimation of productivity of cyclic steam stimulation wells can be divided into three stages: (a) the mobility of heavy oil in the cold area is neglected, (b) the mobility of heavy oil in the cold area is considered—however ...

Strain Space Plasticity Model for Cyclic Mobility
ABSTRACT The cyclic mobility model proposed in this paper is of a generalized plasticity—multiple mechanism type. The salient feature of the present approach is that the concept of the multiple mechanism, within the framework of plasticity theory defined in strain space, is used as a vehicle for decomposing the complex mechanism into a set of one ...
