Bifurcation analysis of a model of the budding yeast cell cycle [PDF]
We study the bifurcations of a set of nine nonlinear ordinary differential equations that describe the regulation of the cyclin-dependent kinase that triggers DNA synthesis and mitosis in the budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. We show that Clb2-dependent kinase exhibits bistability (stable steady states of high or low kinase activity).

Cyclins and the cyclin-kinase system, and their potential roles in nephrology [PDF]
Our understanding of the cell-cycle mechanisms has progressively advanced in the past few years. Cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinases play major roles as positive cell-cycle regulatory proteins and CDK inhibitors; while the Kip family and INK4 family are negative regulatory proteins in mesangial cells and renal tubular cells.

Summary: Cyclin E is a key factor for S phase entry, and deregulation of Cyclin E results in developmental defects and tumors. Therefore, proper cycling of Cyclin E is crucial for normal growth.

Ubiquitylation of cyclin C by HACE1 regulates cisplatin‐associated sensitivity in gastric cancer
Background Cyclin C (CCNC) was reported to take part in regulating mitochondria‐derived oxidative stress under cisplatin stimulation. However, its effect in gastric cancer is unknown.

AlphaFold Accelerates Artificial Intelligence Powered Drug Discovery: Efficient Discovery of a Novel Cyclin-dependent Kinase 20 (CDK20) Small Molecule Inhibitor [PDF]
The AlphaFold computer program predicted protein structures for the whole human genome, which has been considered as a remarkable breakthrough both in artificial intelligence (AI) application and structural biology. Despite the varying confidence level, these predicted structures still could significantly contribute to structure-based drug design of ...

Shapes and Positions of Black Hole Shadows in Accretion Disks and Spin Parameters of Black Holes [PDF]
Can we determine a spin parameter of a black hole by observation of a black hole shadow in an accretion disk? In order to answer this question, we make a qualitative analysis and a quantitative analysis of a shape and a position of a black hole shadow casted by a rotating black hole on an optically thick accretion disk and its dependence on an angular ...

A Limited Role for the Cell Cycle Regulator Cyclin A1 in Murine Leukemogenesis. [PDF]
The quest for novel therapeutic targets in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is still ongoing. One of such targets, cyclin A1, was shown to be overexpressed in AML including AML stem cells. However, the function of cyclin A1 in AML is largely unknown, and the

Cycline subalgebras of $k$-graph C*-algebras [PDF]
In this paper, we prove that the cycline subalgbra of a $k$-graph C*-algebra is maximal abelian, and show when it is a Cartan subalgebra (in the sense of Renault).
