The genome of Megachile rotundata, an extensively managed solitary pollination bee species, has been sequenced, covering 280.68 Mb and predicting 10 701 genes. The study reveals significant expansions of the Toll gene family and their abundant expression in diapause prepupae, highlighting enhanced immune responses during diapause. This genome serves as

Complex Systems Analysis of Cell Cycling Models in Carcinogenesis [PDF]
Carcinogenesis is a complex process that involves dynamically inter-connected modular sub-networks that evolve under the influence of micro-environmentally induced perturbations, in non-random, pseudo-Markov chain processes. An appropriate n-stage model of carcinogenesis involves therefore n-valued Logic treatments of nonlinear dynamic transformations ...

This study reveals that cytoplasmic PABPN1 is essential for mouse oocyte meiotic maturation by coordinating polyadenylation, translation, and degradation of maternal mRNAs. Pabpn1 knockout disrupts CDK1 activation, spindle formation, and chromosome alignment by impairing maturation‐promoting factor (MPF) regulation and BTG4‐mediated deadenylation ...

The objective of this work was to identify novel viral 'evasion' genes without homology in the database through functional assays. Using this approach, the 'unassigned', conserved murine gammaherpesvirus ORF20 gene was shown to localize in the nucleus ...

Synthetic gene circuits regulated by bezafibrate are developed to express tumor antigens and PD‐L1 nanobody (PD‐L1nb), enhancing cancer immunotherapy. Delivered via HEK293T cells, ESCs, or directly injected the plasmids containing the circuit into the tumor, the circuits reduce tumor growth, boost CD8+ T cells, and minimize T cell exhaustion.

Cryo-EM structure of the CDK2-cyclin A-CDC25A complex
The cell division cycle 25 phosphatases CDC25A, B and C regulate cell cycle transitions by dephosphorylating residues in the conserved glycine-rich loop of CDKs to activate their activity.

XPO1 inhibition by selinexor induces potent cytotoxicity against high grade bladder malignancies. [PDF]
Treatment options for high grade urothelial cancers are limited and have remained largely unchanged for several decades. Selinexor (KPT-330), a first in class small molecule that inhibits the nuclear export protein XPO1, has shown efficacy as a single ...
