Redox-responsive alginate microsphere containing cystamine
Redox-responsive microspheres were prepared by solidifying the alginate- and cystamine-containing water droplets of O/W emulsion using calcium ion. Emulsions were prepared using alginate/cystamine mixture solution whose the carboxylic group/the amino group molar ratio was 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3, and whose the total concentration was kept to 2% (w/v).

New Ibuprofen Cystamine Salts With Improved Solubility and Anti‐Inflammatory Effect [PDF]
Two novel ibuprofen cystamine salts (IBU‐CYS 1 and IBU‐CYS 2) are synthesized by coupling the anion of ibuprofen with cystamine dihydrochloride in 1 : 1 and 2 : 1 ratio to improve the solubility and bioavailability of ibuprofen.

Inhibition of Transglutaminase 2 Preserves Blood-Brain Barrier Integrity and Improves Neurological Outcomes After Experimental Traumatic Brain Injury in Mice. [PDF]
The article unraveled that inhibition or knockdown of TGM2 can restore blood–brain barrier (BBB) permeability and ameliorate neurological deficits and cognitive dysfunction in a mouse model of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Mechanistically, TGM2 likely modulates the IL‐17 signaling pathway to regulate MMP9 expression, thereby affecting BBB permeability.

N,N-Bis(7-nitrobenz[c][1,2,5]oxadiazol-4-yl)cystamine
Background: New amino derivatives of NBD type are of high interest due to their strong fluorescence, while compounds containing a disulphide moiety are of high interest in nano-chemistry due to their easiness of attaching to noble nanoparticles ...

A Dual Stimuli Responsive Supramolecular Gel Provides Insulin Hydrolysis Protection and Redox-Controlled Release of Actives [PDF]
Two supramolecular hydrogelators containing a central disulfide moiety and terminal carboxylic acid groups are studied. On the one hand, the hydrogels are responsive to a reductive environment, which transforms the disulfide unit to the corresponding ...

Inhibiting Transglutaminase 2 Mediates Kidney Fibrosis via Anti-Apoptosis
Transglutaminase 2 (TG2) is a calcium-dependent transamidating acyltransferase enzyme of the protein-glutamine γ-glutamyltransferase family implicated in kidney injury. In this study, we identified associations between TG2 and chronic kidney disease (CKD)
