Engineered Biopolymer Architectures for Selective Metal Ions Extraction

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 10, Issue 4, April 2026.
This review establishes a mechanism‐oriented framework that connects biopolymer chemistry, structural engineering, ligand design, and hydrometallurgical process variables for selective metal‐ion extraction. It analyzes how functional groups, hierarchical architectures, and solution speciation govern adsorption capacity and selectivity in acidic ...

TGM2 Aggravates Acute Pancreatitis by Impairing Macrophage Efferocytosis Through Inhibition of the STAT6–GAS6 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 24, 27 April 2026.
This study shows TGM2 is upregulated in AP, impairing macrophage efferocytosis by inhibiting the STAT6–GAS6 axis. The lactoferrin‐modified, ROS‐responsive LF‐LNP@si‐TGM2 targets pancreatic macrophages, silences TGM2, restores the axis, and alleviates AP.

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and glutathione reductase activity in methemoglobin reduction by methylene blue and cyst amine: study on glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase-deficient individuals, on normal subjects and on riboflavin-treated subjects

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 1988
The authors have standardized methods for evaluation of the activity of the glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and of glutathione reductase. The general principle of the first method was based on methemoglobin formation by sodium nitrite followed by ...

Redox‐Responsive Polymeric Nanocapsules for Enhanced Tumor‐Targeted Delivery of Antimicrobial Peptides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 24, 27 April 2026.
This study presents a modular redox‐responsive nanocapsule platform that enables enhanced tumor‐targeted delivery of antimicrobial peptides. Using melittin as an example, the system achieves controlled activation within the tumor microenvironment, improving intratumoral accumulation while minimizing systemic toxicity.

Transglutaminase 2 expression is increased as a function of malignancy grade and negatively regulates cell growth in meningioma. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Most meningiomas are benign, but some clinical-aggressive tumors exhibit brain invasion and cannot be resected without significant complications. To identify molecular markers for these clinically-aggressive meningiomas, we performed microarray analyses ...

The interaction of cystamine with bovine brain tubulin [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biochemistry, 1987
Microtubule assembly in vitro is sensitive to a variety of non‐physiological sulfhydryl‐oxidizing agents, but the physiological significance of this phenomenon is unknown, since no physiological sulfhydryl‐oxidizing agent has been shown to affect microtubule assembly in vitro.

Prebiotic Organic Chemistry of Diketopiperazines

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
Diketopiperazines (DKPs) are considered essential in many life forms, but their prebiotic importance has not been fully understood. This review aims to discuss prebiotic organic chemistry for experimentally and computationally simulated reactions involving DKPs. ABSTRACT Even though the significance of amino acids and polypeptides is well recognized in
