GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Obtaining of transgenic papaya plants var. Maradol roja that carry out the rice oryzacystatin gene

open access: yesBiotecnología Vegetal, 2004
Papaya (Carica papaya L.), is severely affected by Papaya Ringspot virus, which belongs to plant potyvirus group. A recent strategy for pest control produced by this virus is the transformation with genes encoding cysteine proteinase inhibitors.

Purification and characterization of an extracellular cysteine proteinase produced by Micrococcus sp. INIA 528

open access: yes, 1996
Micrococcus sp. INIA 528, a micro-organism isolated from raw ewe's milk Manchego cheese, produced an extracellular proteinase. This enzyme was purified to homogeneity from culture supernatant fluid in two chromatographic steps, with a 29-fold increase of

Integrative Multi‐Omics Analysis Reveals a Mitochondrial–Immune Axis Associated With Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Response in High‐Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrative multi‐omics analysis delineates a mitochondrial–immune axis governing neoadjuvant chemotherapy response in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Immune‐active tumors exhibit enhanced B‐cell infiltration and favorable sensitivity, whereas metabolically rewired tumors display oxidative phosphorylation dependency and resistance.

PURIFICAREA ŞI CARACTERIZAREA PARŢIALĂ A PROTEINAZEI A DIN SEMINŢELE GERMINATE DE FASOLE

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Moldaviae: Stiinte reale si ale naturii, 2007
Proteinase A, that possibly participate in the degradation of phaseolin, the main 7S storage protein of kidney bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), was isolated as a 35-kDa polypeptide from germinating kidney bean seeds and partially characterised.

Mitochondrial SLC25A46 Rewires Fatty Acid Oxidation to Promote Cell Proliferation and Ferroptosis Evasion in Ovarian Cancer by Stabilizing CACT

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial SLC25A46 is upregulated in ovarian cancer (OC) and correlates with poor prognosis. SLC25A46 stabilizes CACT to activate fatty acid oxidation, increasing ATP and NADPH production to drive cell proliferation and ferroptosis evasion. SLC25A46 silencing sensitizes OC cells to ferroptosis and carboplatin, offering a promising therapeutic ...

Host tissue destruction by Entamoeba histolytica: molecules mediating adhesion, cytolysis, and proteolysis

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1992
Entamoeba histolytica, the protozoan parasite causing human amoebisis, has recently been found to comprise two genetically distinct forms, potentially pathogenic and constitutively nonpathogenic ones.

Altered cysteine proteinase activity in insecticide-resistant strains of the maize weevil: Purification and characterization

open access: yes, 2010
Insecticide resistance is usually associated with fitness costs, but such costs may be mitigated by increased energy and amino acid accumulation and mobilization as has been suggested in the maize weevil Sitophilus zeamais (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). To

ZBTB11 Promotes Breast Cancer Progression by Activating FBXO28‐Mediated MST1 Degradation and Suppressing Hippo Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZBTB11 is identified as an oncogenic transcription factor that activates FBXO28 in breast cancer. FBXO28 promotes K48‐linked ubiquitination and degradation of MST1, suppressing Hippo signaling and enhancing epithelial–mesenchymal transition and metastasis. This transcription‐to‐ubiquitination cascade defines a prognostic biomarker axis and highlights a
