Plasma exosomal DOK3 reflects immunological states in lung tumor and predicts prognosis of gefitinib treatment

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 113, Issue 11, Page 3960-3971, November 2022., 2022
DOK3+ B cells in tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) of lung cancer tissues and DOK3 levels in plasma exosomes showed clear correlation with both PFS and OS of gefitinib treatment. Abstract To identify liquid biomarkers that predict clinical outcomes of epidermal growth factor receptor‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR‐TKI), we enrolled patients with EGFR

Structural and molecular characterization of paraventricular thalamic glucokinase‐expressing neuronal circuits in the mouse

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 530, Issue 11, Page 1773-1949, August 2022., 2022
By using a genetically modified mouse model and viral tracing approaches, we mapped both the anterograde and the retrograde projections of a subpopulation of neurons in the anterior paraventricular thalamic nucleus, molecularly defined by the expression of glucokinase (GckaPVT).

Genetic confirmation of a hybrid between two highly divergent cardinalid species: A rose‐breasted grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus) and a scarlet tanager (Piranga olivacea)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 12, Issue 8, August 2022., 2022
Using low‐coverage whole‐genome sequencing, analysis of vocalizations, and inferences from natural history, we document a first‐generation hybrid between a rose‐breasted grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus) and a scarlet tanager (Piranga olivacea). Abstract Using low‐coverage whole‐genome sequencing, analysis of vocalizations, and inferences from natural

Biallelic AOPEP Loss‐of‐Function Variants Cause Progressive Dystonia with Prominent Limb Involvement

open access: yesMovement Disorders, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 137-147, January 2022., 2022
ABSTRACT Background Monogenic causes of isolated dystonia are heterogeneous. Assembling cohorts of affected individuals sufficiently large to establish new gene–disease relationships can be challenging. Objective We sought to expand the catalogue of monogenic etiologies for isolated dystonia.

Inhibition of clathrin‐mediated endocytosis by knockdown of AP‐2 leads to alterations in the plasma membrane proteome

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 22, Issue 1-2, Page 6-22, January-February 2021., 2021
Knockdown of the endocytic clathrin adaptor AP‐2 μ‐subunit was used to inhibit clathrin‐mediated endocytosis (CME). As a result, the plasma membrane proteome was fundamentally altered, including strong accumulation of endo‐lysosomal proteins, tumor markers and other clinically relevant transmembrane proteins.

Association of Polymorphisms of Metabolism‐Related Genes with Psoriasis Vulgaris in Han Chinese

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
Aim. Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease with a complex etiology, and psoriasis vulgaris (PsV) is the most common type of psoriasis. Recent studies suggest the relationship between psoriasis and metabolic syndrome in different ethnicities. This study is aimed at evaluating the association of metabolism‐related gene variants with the risk of PsV

Endometrial and luteal gene expression of putative gene regulators of the equine maternal recognition of pregnancy

open access: yes, 2022
Our understanding of the temporal changes in endometrial and luteal gene transcripts related to the actions of oxytocin and prostaglandin during early equine pregnancy is incomplete.

Differential Gene Expression Profile of Renin-Angiotensin System in the Left Atrium in Mitral Regurgitation Patients. [PDF]

open access: yesDis Markers, 2018
Background. Left atrial enlargement is a mortality and heart failure risk factor in primary mitral regurgitation (MR) patients. Pig models of MR have shown differential expression of genes linked to the renin‐angiotensin system. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the key genes of the renin‐angiotensin that are expressed differentially ...

Oxytocinase in the Female Rat Hypothalamus: a Novel Mechanism Controlling Oxytocin Neurons During Lactation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In addition to its peripheral actions, oxytocin released within the brain is important for birth and essential for milk ejection. The oxytocinase enzyme (placental leucine aminopeptidase; P-LAP) is expressed both peripherally and centrally.
