Cytoplasmic Granules in Fibrogenic Cells

Nature, 1955
A SYSTEMATIC investigation into the method of elaboration of intercellular material in connective and skeletal tissues has shown that cytoplasmic granules, which contain polysaccharide protein components, are present in fibrogenic cells of the fowl embryo both in vivo and in vitro.

Lobular carcinoma with cytoplasmic granules

Diagnostic Cytopathology, 2001
AbstractWe report on a case of invasive lobular carcinoma of the breast with a previously undescribed cytologic feature. Diff‐Quik‐stained cytologic preparations showed uniform single cells with prominent coarse cytoplasmic granules. Ultrastructurally, the granules showed features suggestive of autophagosomes and/or degenerative mitochondria.

Cytoplasmic granules in exfoliated buccal epithelial cells

Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, 1983
The cytoplasmic granules in exfoliated epithelial cells of healthy cheek mucosae of seven subjects were studied by means of phase‐contrast microscopy, electron microscopy and histochemistry. An electron microscopic technique was used to study specific granules which had been identified with the light microscope.

A growth promoting effect of cytoplasmic granules

Experientia, 1953

Papillary Serous Carcinoma with Basophilic Cytoplasmic Granules

Ultrastructural Pathology, 1985
Case HistoryA 69-year-old white female presented with vaginal bleeding and abdominal distention. A uterine cervical biopsy revealed adenocarcinoma. A laparotomy was performed, with a hysterectomy, bilaterial salpingo-oophorectomy, and multiple omental and abdominal lymph node biopsies.

Cytoplasmic granules in myogenic cells

Experimental Cell Research, 1955
respiration of these amoebae is strongly inhibited by cyanide [4, 10, 111 indicating the presence of a terminal cytochrome oxidase. From our own studies on Tetrahymena geleii (GL) and from the work of Eichel [5] it appears that these organisms also operate on a cytochrome e system. In washed, packed Tetrahymena geleii, observed spectroscopically in the

Cytoplasmic RNA granules, ribostasis, and neurodegeneration

Neurology, 2018
The regulation of translation and decay of messenger RNA (mRNA) is a key mechanism for control of gene expression. During transcription in the nucleus, nascent mRNAs assemble with a set of RNA-binding proteins to form messenger ribonucleoprotein particles (mRNPs).

Two types of cytoplasmic granule in Trypanosoma rhodesiense

Experimental Parasitology, 1965
Abstract Light microscope studies of Trypanosoma rhodesiense have demonstrated two distinct types of cytoplasmic granule. Type I granules can be fixed with methanol and stained with Giemsa stain. Type II granules can be fixed by OsO 4 vapor but are removed by methanol; they can be demonstrated by phase contrast but cannot be stained with Giemsa ...

Deciphering piRNA biogenesis through cytoplasmic granules, mitochondria and exosomes

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2020
RNA systems biology is marked by a myriad of cellular processes mediated by small and long non-coding RNAs. Small non-coding RNAs include siRNAs (small interfering RNAs), miRNAs (microRNAs), tRFs(tRNA derived fragments), and piRNAs (PIWI-interacting RNAs).
