Pulse Dynamics in a Chain of Granules With Friction [PDF]
, 2003 We study the dynamics of a pulse in a chain of granules with friction. We present theories for chains of cylindrical granules (Hertz potential with exponent $n=2$) and of granules with other geometries ($n>2$). Our results are supported via numerical simulations for cylindrical and for spherical granules ($n=5/2$).

This paper presents an automated unsupervised cytoplasm segmentation approach which can effectively find the cytoplasm boundaries in overlapping cells.
