A Cytotoxic Indazole‐based Gold(III) Carboxamide Pincer Complex Targeting DNA Through Dual Binding Modes of Groove Binding and Alkylation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Toward new gold(III) anticancer agents. Herein, we report on an indazole‐based gold(III) carboxamide pincer complex exhibiting significant cytotoxicity, likely mediated through dual interactions with DNA. Mechanistic investigations suggest that the complex binds to the DNA and forms specific interactions with nucleotide bases.

A proteome‐scale analysis of vertebrate protein amino acid occurrence: Thermoadaptation shows a correlation with protein solvation but less so with dynamics

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, Volume 91, Issue 1, Page 3-15, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Despite differences in behaviors and living conditions, vertebrate organisms share the great majority of proteins, often with subtle differences in amino acid sequence. Here, we present a simple way to analyze the difference in amino acid occurrence by comparing highly homologous proteins on a subproteome level between several vertebrate model

Tunable G‐Quadruplex Ligands: Azobenzene Derivatives for Light‐Controlled DNA Modulation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Azobenzene (AB) is a promising light‐responsive motif for targeting G‐quadruplexes (G4 s) and enabling their light‐controlled modulation. We synthesized a series of novel AB derivatives with diverse structural variations, demonstrating that the interaction mode influences its ability to modulate G4 properties bidirectionally.

A Fluorescent Aptasensor for Sensitive and Selective Determination of Epigenetic Cancer Biomarker N1‐Methyladenosine in Urine Samples

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Using N1‐methyladenosine, a cancer biomarker as a target, a highly selective DNA aptamer was obtained with excellent selectivity and affinity, allowing the detection with a limit of detection of 1.9 µm. Abstract N1‐methyladenosine (m1A) level in urine increases in the presence of cancer and is associated with the tumor size and stage.
