The Influence of Indisulam on Human Immune Effector Cells: Is a Combination with Immunotherapy Feasible?

open access: yesPharmaceutics
Background: As a modulator of pre-mRNA splicing, the anti-cancer agent indisulam can induce aberrantly spliced neoantigens, enabling immunologic anti-tumor activity. Consequently, combining indisulam with immunotherapy is expected to be a promising novel

A Phase 1 randomized trial of homologous and heterologous filovirus vaccines with a late booster dose

open access: yesnpj Vaccines
Filoviruses, including Ebola, Marburg, Sudan, and Taï Forest viruses, are zoonotic pathogens that can cause severe viral hemorrhagic fever and death. Developing vaccines that provide durable, broad immunity against multiple filoviruses is a high global ...

Verteporfin‐Mediated In Situ Nanovaccine Based on Local Conventional‐Dose Hypofractionated Radiotherapy Enhances Antitumor and Immunomodulatory Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here gelatinase‐responsive methoxypolyethyleneglycol–PVGLIG–polycaprolactone (mPEG–PVGLIG–PCL) nanoparticles’ loading verteporfin (N@VP) is developed, enhancing radiotherapy via X‐ray‐triggered singlet oxygen generation. Combined with 2 Gy (gray, a radiation dose unit) irradiation, N@VP achieves antitumor efficacy comparable to 8 Gy, and also promotes ...

Cutaneous T‐cell lymphomas: 2023 update on diagnosis, risk‐stratification, and management

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, Volume 98, Issue 1, Page 193-209, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Disease Overview Cutaneous T‐cell lymphomas are a heterogenous group of T‐cell neoplasms involving the skin, the majority of which may be classified as Mycosis Fungoides (MF) or Sézary Syndrome (SS). Diagnosis The diagnosis of MF or SS requires the integration of clinical and histopathologic data.

PPY‐Induced iCAFs Cultivate an Immunosuppressive Microenvironment in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma features abundant stromal components that hinder therapy efficacy. Single‐cell RNA sequencing analysis combined with experiments identified PPY, a gastrointestinal hormone, as a novel inducer of immunosuppressive iCAFs. Mechanistic studies revealed that PPY activates the non‐canonical NF‐κB pathway via EGFR.

Utilization of real‐world data in assessing treatment effectiveness for diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, Volume 98, Issue 1, Page 180-192, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Direct comparisons of the effectiveness of the numerous novel therapies in the diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL) treatment landscape in a range of head‐to‐head randomized phase 3 trials would be time‐consuming and costly. Comparative effectiveness studies using real‐world data (RWD) represent a complementary approach.

A CLDN18.2‐Targeted Nanoplatform Manipulates Magnetic Hyperthermia Spatiotemporally for Synergistic Immunotherapy in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CLDN18.2 is a highly selective biomarker exposed in gastric cancer. A CLDN18.2‐specific antibody 1D5 conjugated fluorescence‐magnetic nanoparticle is developed for image‐guided precision theragnostics. Under the assistance of sensitive FMI and deep‐penetrating MPI for tracing and timing the optimal nanoparticle dosage, combining α‐PD1 therapy with ...

Tumor‐Adhesive Chitosan‐Derived Multi‐Immune Agonist Unleashes Strong and Durable Anti‐Cancer Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A tumor‐adhesive chitosan‐derived immune agonist TACTIC is developed for strong and durable anti‐tumor immunity. The immune agonist exhibits multi‐targets and modulates both tumor cell immunogenicity and pro‐inflammatory responses in immune cells, thereby potentiating the therapeutic efficacy of clinical radiotherapy.

In Vitro Comparison of the Viability and Proliferation of Human Gingival Fibroblasts and Osteoblast-like MG-63 Cells on Three Different Temporary Cements Used in Dental Implants

open access: yesFrontiers in Dentistry
Objectives: Retained cement is an idiopathic factor contributing to early implant loss, making the selection of cement with minimal toxicity to peri-implant hard and soft tissues crucial.
