An immunological suppressor cell inactivating cytotoxic T-lymphocyte precursor cells recognizing it
Nature, 1980The immune system does not normally react against self components. Originally, it was postulated that self-reactive cells were somehow deleted or blocked. More recent thinking is that such cells are suppressed by regulatory networks similar to those limiting the immune response against non-self determinants. Both mechanisms may exist. I describe here a

[Study on cytotoxicity to leukemia cell and enhancement of immunologic functions of jiexinkang].
Hunan yi ke da xue xue bao = Hunan yike daxue xuebao = Bulletin of Hunan Medical University, 2002Cytotoxicity to leukemia cell and enhancement of immunologic functions of jiexinkang (JXK, traditional Chinese medicine) were observed in 34 cases of leukemia in vitro. The results showed that the leukemia cytotoxicity in the group of vincristine combined with JXK was significantly higher than that in vincristine alone.

A longitudinal study of immunological parameters in multiple sclerosis. Cytotoxic antibodies.
Journal of the neurological sciences, 1979Complement-dependent gliotoxic antibody activity was determined in 22 patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and 19 normal control persons. Peripheral blood serum was collected from MS patients at about 4-week intervals for one year, and the results of cytotoxicity tests correlated with the course of disease.

[The lymphocyte cytotoxicity test in tumor immunology (author's transl)].
Klinische Wochenschrift, 1975The cytotoxic action of lymphocytes on cancer cells in vitro indicates sensitization of the patient against his own tumor. The technical difficulities of this test and possibilities of standardization and simplifying the procedure are discussed. Critical steps are isolation of lymphocytes and culturing target cells without loosing their specific ...

Immunological Impacts of Targeted and Cytotoxic Therapeutics in Breast Cancer
2019Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related death among women in the United States. Patients with invasive breast cancer are often treated systemically with targeted or cytotoxic therapies, which inhibit the growth of or kill tumor cells; however, these therapeutics can also impact non-tumor cell
