Evolution of the cetacean mitochondrial D-loop region. [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Biology and Evolution, 1991
We sequenced the mitochondrial DNA D-loop regions from two cetacean species and compared these with the published D-loop sequences of several other mammalian species, including one other cetacean. Nucleotide substitution rates, DNA sequence simplicity, possible open reading frames (ORFs), and potential RNA secondary structure were investigated.

Intravitreal GD2‐Specific Chimeric Antigen Receptor T‐Cell Therapy for Refractory Retinoblastoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective treatments for advanced, treatment‐resistant retinoblastoma (RB) remain limited. GD2‐specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells show potent antitumor activity with minimal toxicity but have not previously been evaluated in RB.

Long-read sequencing of benthophilinae mitochondrial genomes reveals the origins of round goby mitogenome re-arrangements

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2019
Genetic innovation may be linked to evolutionary success, and indeed, the invasive round goby mitochondrial genome sequence carries two novel features not previously described in Benthophilinae.

Mitochondrial control region alterations and breast cancer risk: a study in South Indian population. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
BACKGROUND: Mitochondrial displacement loop (D-loop) is the hot spot for mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) alterations which influence the generation of cellular reactive oxygen species (ROS).

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Bisulfite treatment and single-molecule real-time sequencing reveal D-loop length, position, and distribution

open access: yeseLife, 2020
Displacement loops (D-loops) are signature intermediates formed during homologous recombination. Numerous factors regulate D-loop formation and disruption, thereby influencing crucial aspects of DNA repair, including donor choice and the possibility of ...

PriA-directed Assembly of a Primosome on D Loop DNA [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1999
Escherichia coli strains carrying null mutations in priA are chronically induced for the SOS response and are defective in homologous recombination, repair of UV damaged DNA, double-strand break repair, and both induced and constitutive stable DNA replication.

Estimation of genetic variability among traditional hungarian horses by mitochondrial DNA analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Munkám fő célja a gidrán és hucul kancacsaládok genetikai diverzitásának feltérképezése volt két mtDNS marker segítségével. A lovak genetikai struktúrájának meghatározása mellett, a mtDNS markerek gyakorlati alkalmazását is vizsgáltam.

Infection Control Practices for Vascular Access Management in Hemodialysis: Results From a Nationwide Survey of Japanese National University Hospitals

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Bloodstream infections due to repeated vascular access (VA) puncture and circuit connections remain major concerns in hemodialysis. Therefore, we examined current practices for glove, disinfectant, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use according to VA type in national university hospitals in Japan.
