Update: Enzymatische Synthese für industrielle Anwendungen

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 27, July 1, 2025.

Changes in the algal composition, bacterial metabolic activity and element content of biofilms developed on artificial substrata in the early phase of colonization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Changes in the algal composition and metabolic profiles of bacterial communities as well as the inorganic components were studied on artificial substrata during the early phase of biofilm formation under laboratory conditions in September 2002 and 2003 ...

An Update: Enzymatic Synthesis for Industrial Applications

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 64, Issue 27, July 1, 2025.
Biocatalysis has become a sustainable and cost‐competitive alternative to established chemical synthesis, enabling the enzyme‐based production of not only commodity chemicals but (non‐natural) amino acids, (rare) sugars, as well as synthetic nucleotides.

Reconstitution of Methionine Cycle With ATP Regeneration for Whole‐Cell Catalysis of Creatine Production in Engineered Escherichia coli

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 18, Issue 5, May 2025.
In this study, we constructed a CR biosynthesis pathway in E. coli by introducing exogenous AGAT and GAMT. We integrated the reconstitution methionine cycle with a polyphosphate kinase‐based ATP regeneration system, achieving a CR titre of 5.27 g/L with a productivity of 0.22 g/L/h.

Crystal structure of 6-deoxy-α-l-psicofuranose

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2015
The title compound, C6H12O5, was crystallized from an aqueous solution of 6-deoxy-l-psicose (6-deoxy-l-allulose, (3S,4S,5S)-1,3,4,5-tetrahydroxyhexan-2-one), and the molecule was confirmed as α-furanose with a 3T4 (or E4) conformation, which is a ...
