Synthesis of 4‐(Phenylamino)quinazoline‐2(1H)‐thiones Using Green Solvents

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 30, Issue 63, November 12, 2024.
Environmentally friendly process for synthesizing heterocyclic molecules of therapeutic interest with the quinazoline‐2(1H)‐thione core structure, using bio‐based recyclable solvents. Abstract Given the importance of quinazolines and quinazolinethiones in therapeutic and Food and Drug Administration (FDA)‐approved molecules, we thought interesting to ...

Automated Multi-Process CTC Detection using Deep Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) bear great promise as biomarkers in tumor prognosis. However, the process of identification and later enumeration of CTCs require manual labor, which is error-prone and time-consuming. The recent developments in object detection via Deep Learning using Mask-RCNNs and wider availability of pre-trained models have enabled ...

Pharmacological advances in anti‐retroviral therapy for human immunodeficiency virus‐1 infection: A comprehensive review

open access: yesReviews in Medical Virology, Volume 34, Issue 2, March 2024.
Abstract The discovery of anti‐retroviral (ARV) drugs over the past 36 years has introduced various classes, including nucleoside/nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors, non‐nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, protease inhibitor, fusion, and integrase strand transfer inhibitors inhibitors.

Learning with minimal effort: leveraging in silico labeling for cell and nucleus segmentation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Deep learning provides us with powerful methods to perform nucleus or cell segmentation with unprecedented quality. However, these methods usually require large training sets of manually annotated images, which are tedious and expensive to generate. In this paper we propose to use In Silico Labeling (ISL) as a pretraining scheme for segmentation tasks.

The tautomer‐specific excited state dynamics of 2,6‐diaminopurine using resonance‐enhanced multiphoton ionization and quantum chemical calculations

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, Volume 100, Issue 2, Page 404-418, March/April 2024.
1,6‐Diaminopurine excited state dynamics depends critically on tautomeric form. Abstract 2,6‐Diaminopurine (2,6‐dAP) is an alternative nucleobase that potentially played a role in prebiotic chemistry. We studied its excited state dynamics in the gas phase by REMPI, IR‐UV hole burning, and ps pump‐probe spectroscopy and performed quantum chemical ...

Interaction of DAPI with double-stranded ribonucleic acids [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1985
The interaction of DAPI with natural and synthetic double-stranded polyribonucleotides was studied with different optical and calorimetric methods. The results were similar to those obtained previously with double-stranded polydeoxynucleotides, i.e.

An adaptation of DAPI-banding to fishes chromosomes [PDF]

open access: yesCaryologia, 2006
This is the description of a method to obtain DAPI-banding in fishes' chromosomes by its denaturation using formamide. The slides are aged in an incubator and dehydrated in an ethanol series. The next step is the dena- turation in formamide 70% and staining with DAPI.

Coherence in Synchronizing Power Networks with Distributed Integral Control [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We consider frequency control of synchronous generator networks and study transient performance under both primary and secondary frequency control. We model random step changes in power loads and evaluate performance in terms of expected deviations from a synchronous frequency over the synchronization transient; what can be thought of as lack of ...

Performance and Scalability of Voltage Controllers in Multi-Terminal HVDC Networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
In this paper, we compare the transient performance of a multi-terminal high-voltage DC (MTDC) grid equipped with a slack bus for voltage control to that of two distributed control schemes: a standard droop controller and a distributed averaging proportional-integral (DAPI) controller.

Mechanics of compliant serial manipulator composed of dual-triangle segments [PDF]

open access: yes3rd International Conference on Control and Robots, Dec 2020, Tokyo, Japan, 2020
The paper focuses on the mechanics of a compliant serial manipulator composed of new type of dual-triangle elastic segments. Both the analytical and numerical methods were used to find the manipulator stable and unstable equilibrium configurations, as well as to predict corresponding manipulator shapes.
