Negative Matter as Unified Dark Matter and Dark Energy, Distributions of Dark Matter-Energy, and Observed Ways in the Milky Way

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences, 2023
There are not necessarily dark matter and dark energy in the solar system, and dark energy cannot distribute uniformly in the whole space. Based on Dirac negative energy, Einstein mass-energy relation and principle of equivalence, we proposed the negative matter as the simplest model of unified dark matter and dark energy.

How to Build an Empirical Speed Distribution for Dark Matter in the Solar Neighborhood

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The dark matter flux in a direct detection experiment depends on its local speed distribution. This distribution has been inferred from simulations of Milky Way–like galaxies, but such models serve only as proxies, given that no simulation directly ...

Collider Searches for Dark Matter (ATLAS + CMS)

open access: yesUniverse, 2018
Several searches for dark matter have been performed by the CMS and ATLAS collaborations, using proton-proton collisions with a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV produced by the Large Hadron Collider. Different signatures may highlight the presence of dark

Dark Matter Distribution in Nearby Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 2004
We present results obtained from a study of the mass distribution of 24 galaxies observed using Fabry-Pérot techniques, as part of the GHASP survey (see Russeil et al., this meeting). For each galaxy, we combined high resolution Hα rotation curves derived from 2-D velocity fields, with low resolution HI data, in order to determine accurately the inner ...

Dark matter in galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Dark matter in galaxies, its abundance, and its distribution remain a subject of long-standing discussion, especially in view of the fact that neither dark matter parti-cles nor dark matter bodies have yet been found. Experts' opinions range from 'a very

Dark Matter: A Primer

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, 2011
Dark matter is one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in cosmology at the present time. About 80% of the Universe's gravitating matter is nonluminous, and its nature and distribution are for the most part unknown.

Imprints of dark matter on black hole shadows using spherical accretions

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2021
We study the possibility of identifying dark matter in the galactic center from the physical properties of the electromagnetic radiation emitted from an optically-thin disk region around a static and spherically symmetric black hole.

Implications of the Intriguing Constant Inner Mass Surface Density Observed in Dark Matter Halos

open access: yesGalaxies
It has long been known that the observed mass surface density of cored dark matter (DM) halos is approximately constant, independently of the galaxy mass (i.e., ρcrc≃constant, with ρc and rc being the central volume density and the radius of the core ...

Simulating Atomic Dark Matter in Milky Way Analogs

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
Dark sector theories naturally lead to multicomponent scenarios for dark matter where a subcomponent can dissipate energy through self-interactions, allowing it to efficiently cool inside galaxies.

AN ANALYTICAL MODEL FOR THE ACCRETION OF DARK MATTER SUBHALOS

open access: yes, 2011
An analytical model is developed for the mass function of cold dark matter subhalos at the time of accretion and for the distribution of their accretion times. Our model is based on the model of Zhao et al.
