Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Mouse CD8+ T Cell Migration in vitro and CXCR3 Internalization Assays
Chemokines are molecules that regulate the positioning of cells during homeostasis and inflammation. CXCL10 is an interferon-induced chemokine that attracts cells that express the chemokine receptor CXCR3 on their surface.

The role of Microenvironment in tumorigenesis. Focus on dendritic cells in human papillomavirus E6, E7-transformed keratinocytes [PDF]
The inception of tumor microenvironment (TME), a complex and dynamic system constituted by different types of cells engaged by tumor and extracellular matrix surrounding cancer cells, is a way for them to elude the immune surveillance.

Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Clec12A, CD301b, and FcγRIIB/III define the heterogeneity of murine DC2s and DC3s
Summary: Over the last decade, multiple studies have investigated the heterogeneity of murine conventional dendritic cells type 2 (cDC2s). However, their phenotypic similarity with monocytes and macrophages renders their clear identification challenging.

For the conversion of immunologically cold tumors, characterized by a low T cell infiltration, into hot tumors, it is necessary to enrich T cells in the tumor area. One possibility is the use of magnetic fields to direct T cells into the tumor.

Dendritic cells (DC) play key rolls in various aspects of immunity. The functions of DC depend on the subsets as well as their location or activation status. Understanding developmental lineages, precursors and inducing factors for various DC subsets would help their clinical application, but despite extensive efforts, the precise ontogeny of various ...
