EFFECT OF SOMATOSTATIN ON DENTAL PULP STEM CELLS.
Journal of biological regulators and homeostatic agents, 2015Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) are multipotent stem cells with the potential to differentiate into various cell types. For this reason, they have been proposed as an alternative source for mesenchymal stem cells. Somatostatin is a peptide hormone with an inhibitory effect on several endogenous hormones.

Dental Pulp Stem Cells (DPSCs) can be found within the cell rich zone of dental pulp. These stem cells, under specific stimuli, differentiate into many cell types which have wide therapeutic applications. The dental stem cells are derived from both deciduous and permanent teeth.
