Dietary dilution and intake in the cat
Physiology & Behavior, 1981Abstract Adult cats increased intake in response to water dilution of a maintenance diet. These increases in consumption were proportional to the quantity of water that was used as a diluent over a large range of dilutions (9% to 75% water). These data are related to current views on the nature of the mechanisms determining intake in carnivores.
