Effects of Diethylnitrosamine on Lung Neuroendocrine Cells
Experimental Lung Research, 1982 Diethylnitrosamine is known to cause squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma of the lung in Syrian golden hamsters. Sections of lungs obtained from hamsters treated with the systemic carcinogen diethylnitrosamine revealed a significant increase in the number of argyrophilic cells of neuroepithelial bodies.

Toxicologic Pathology, 1982 Administration of diethylnitrosamine I.P. at dose level of 2 mg/kg five days a week to young Sprague-Dawley rats induced foci of altered hepatocytes entirely devoid of glucose-6-phosphatase and adenosine triphosphatase activity. Several weeks later, these foci developed hepatocellular carcinoma mostly of the trabecular type.
