Flap surgery is a common method used to cover defects following tumor ablation, trauma, or infection. However, insufficient vascularity in the transferred flap can lead to flap necrosis and failure. Proper postoperative monitoring is essential to prevent

Differential thermal analysis of milk proteins. [PDF]
Differential thermal analysis (DTA) was used for study of milk protein denaturation. Protein solutions produced an endothermic peak of characteristic shape and temperature of peak minimum. The peak minimum is considered the coagulation temperature of the protein. The influence of pH and additives such as sugars and NaCl was clearly observed on the ...

High-Temperature Transport Properties of the Zintl Phases Yb_(11)GaSb_9 and Yb_(11)InSb_9 [PDF]
Two rare-earth Zintl phases, Yb_(11)GaSb_9 and Yb_(11)InSb_9, were synthesized in high-temperature self-fluxes of molten Ga and In, respectively. Structures were characterized by both single-crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction and are ...

Negative Differential Conductance and Hot Phonons in Suspended Nanotube Molecular Wires [PDF]
Freely suspended metallic single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) exhibit reduced current carrying ability compared to those lying on substrates, and striking negative differential conductance (NDC) at low electric fields.

Destabilization of the hard coal microstructure by a weak electric field [PDF]
This study aims to analyse physical and chemical changes in hard coal samples under the influence of low-intensity electric fields in comparison to the fragments of ejected coal, as well as the coal samples selected from the zones ...

Differential thermal analysis of lunar soil simulant [PDF]
Differential thermal analysis of a lunar soil simulant, 'Minnesota Lunar Simulant-1' (MLS-1) was performed. The MLS-1 was tested in as-received form (in glass form) and with another silica.

Thermal instability in rotating galactic coronae
The thermal stability of rotating, stratified, unmagnetized atmospheres is studied by means of linear-perturbation analysis, finding stability, overstability or instability, depending on the properties of the gas distribution, but also on the nature of ...

Anomalous kinetics and transport from 1D self--consistent mode--coupling theory
We study the dynamics of long-wavelength fluctuations in one-dimensional (1D) many-particle systems as described by self-consistent mode-coupling theory.

Jets of nuclear matter from high energy heavy ion collisions [PDF]
The fluid dynamical model is used to study the reactions 20Ne+238U and 40Ar+40Ca at Elab=390 MeV/nucleon. The calculated double differential cross sections d²ð/dΩdE exhibit sidewards maxima in agreement with recent experimental data.
