A high - precision measurement chain for reference purposes

open access: yesMeasurement: Sensors, 2021
Reference transducers not only for high pressure (GPa) but also for high force (MN) and high torque (MN▪m) have been based on foil-type strain gauges for decades, due to their excellent signal-to-noise ratio and established, well-proven technology. Thus,

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Square wave reference digital lock-in detection using non-orthogonal demodulation

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Digital lock-in detection technique is commonly used to measure the amplitude and phase of a selected frequency signal. The technique which uses a square wave as the reference signal has an advantage of easier implementation and higher computational ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Advanced strategies for detecting acid sphingomyelinase deficiency type B with attenuated phenotypes

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases
Background Acid Sphingomyelinase Deficiency (ASMD) type B is a rare lysosomal disorder caused by SMPD1 mutations. Due to its low prevalence and clinical heterogeneity, diagnosis is challenging, and detection is crucial for the initiation of enzyme ...
