Peptide‐Enabled Nanoplatforms for Malaria and Leishmaniasis: From Intracellular Targeting to Translational Diagnostic Perspectives

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Peptide‐enabled nanoplatforms offer multifunctional strategies for the treatment and diagnosis of malaria and leishmaniasis. Liposomal, polymeric, and metallic nanocarriers, together with cell‐penetrating peptides and parasite‐derived mimotopes, can improve targeted drug delivery, stability, bioavailability, and intracellular localization.

Design, Synthesis, and Evaluation of New 1,4‐Naphthoquinone‐1,2,3‐triazoles as Antimalarial Agents

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Compound 9g, a 1,4‐naphthoquinone‐1,2,3‐triazole derivative, exhibited potent activity against P. falciparum 3D7 and in silico analysis revealed strong interactions with 1J3 and 1LDG targets, while MD simulations confirmed the stability of the ligand‐3FGO complex.

Lactoferrin and Nanotechnology: New Insights Into Glioblastoma Therapy

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Current glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) management primarily relies on surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy; however, therapeutic efficacy remains limited due to tumor invasiveness and restricted drug penetration across the blood–brain barrier. Lactoferrin (LF), an iron‐binding glycoprotein with receptor‐mediated transport capability, has emerged as a

Human fortilin is a molecular target of dihydroartemisinin [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 2008
Dehydroartemisinin (DHA) is an effective anti‐malaria agent. Fortilin is an anti‐apoptotic molecule overexpressed in many human cancers. Here, we show that DHA binds human fortilin, increases the ubiquitination of fortilin, shortens fortilin's half‐life in a proteasome‐dependent fashion, and reduces cellular levels of fortilin in varieties of cells ...

Venetoclax for elderly patients with acute myeloid leukaemia unfit for intensive chemotherapy: Prospects, resistance mechanisms and management strategies

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
Resistance to venetoclax has become a critical bottleneck limiting its long‐term clinical benefits. A thorough understanding of the underlying resistance mechanisms and the development of novel strategies to overcome resistance are central to improving survival outcomes in elderly AML patients. Abstract To date, the treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia

Electrocardiographic safety evaluation of dihydroartemisinin piperaquine in the treatment of uncomplicated falciparum malaria. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine (DP) could become a leading fixed combination malaria treatment worldwide. Although there is accumulating evidence of efficacy and safety from clinical trials, data on cardiotoxicity are limited.
