Design and synthesis of dipeptide mimetics of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor
Russian Journal of Bioorganic Chemistry, 2012Low-molecular mimetics of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) loops 1 and 4 representing to monomeric and dimeric amides of N-acyldipeptides were constructed and synthesized. The sequence of these dipeptides coinside with the central regions of beta-turns of corresponding loops of neurotrophine sequence, and acyl groups are bioisosters of ...

Synthesis of bicyclic dipeptide mimetics for the cholecystokinin and opioid receptors
Tetrahedron Letters, 2004Abstract The cholecystokinin C-terminal octapeptide analogue H-Asp-Tyr-D-Phe-Gly-Trp-(N-Me)-Nle-Asp-Phe-NH2 (SNF 9007) is a potent and selective ligand for both the CCK-B and δ-opioid receptors. To constrain the peptide into the biologically active conformation(s), bicyclic dipeptide mimetics for Nle-Gly and homoPhe-Gly were designed and synthesized ...

Immunologically active mimetics of muramyl dipeptide
2005N-acetylmuramyl-L-alanyl-D-isoglutamine (muramyl dipeptide, MDP) is the minimal immunologically active component of the bacterial cell wall peptidoglycan [1]. In last 20 years many research groups have been concerned with the synthesis and immunological studies of derivatives of this highly active glycopeptide in order to obtain molecules with improved

A simple and efficient synthesis of an Asp-Gly dipeptide mimetic
Tetrahedron Letters, 2004Abstract Alkylation of N α -Boc protected aspartic acid with allyl bromide in the presence of lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide (LHMDS) and hexamethylphosphoramide (HMPA) afforded chiral β-allyl substituted aspartic acid in good yields. After deprotection of the N α -Boc group and reprotection as a trifluoroacetamide, the terminal alkene was oxidized ...

Renin inhibitors containing conformationally restricted P1-P1' dipeptide mimetics
Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1991A series of renin inhibitors containing lactam-bridged P1-P1' dipeptide mimetics based on the ACHPA (4(S)-amino-5-cyclohexyl-3(S)-hydroxypentanoic acid) design was studied. The inhibitors were obtained by aldol addition of various lactams with N alpha-Boc-L-cyclohexylalaninal, followed by Boc group removal and acylation with Boc-Phe-His.

Synthesis of new β-turn dipeptide mimetic based on tetrahydroisoquinoline moiety
Tetrahedron Letters, 2002Abstract A new β-turn dipeptide mimetic was performed by a Pictet–Spengler condensation, starting from L-DOPA and the corresponding aldehyde derived from Fmoc-L-Ala-OH.

Stereoselective Synthesis of (Z)-Alkene-Containing Proline Dipeptide Mimetics
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2006In peptides and proteins, the peptide bond between an amino acid and proline exists as an equilibrium mixture of the cis-imide and trans-imide due to the low energy barrier in their interconversion. This feature greatly influences the structure and function of the proline-containing peptides and proteins.
