Two mechanisms of membrane digestion: enzymatic-transport ensemble exists for oligopeptides as well

open access: yesРоссийский журнал гастроэнтерологии, гепатологии, колопроктологии, 2011
Aim of investigation. To determine, which mechanism of dipeptide transport is realized under experimental conditions: PEPT1-mediated transport of the intact dipeptides or transport of the amino acid formed as a result of membrane hydrolysis of dipeptides

Loncastuximab Tesirine in Relapsed/Refractory Diffuse Large B‐Cell Lymphoma: Evidence and Practical Guidance From Italian Clinical Experience

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL) who progress to the third‐line setting face a lack of standardized treatment, despite the presence of multiple available therapies. In this context, antibody–drug conjugates represent a relatively new class of anticancer agents; among them, loncastuximab tesirine is ...

Kinetic and structural characterisation of domain‐specific angiotensin I‐converting enzyme inhibition by captopril, rentiapril and zofenoprilat

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Angiotensin I‐converting enzyme (ACE) contains two catalytic domains (nACE and cACE) and is a key therapeutic target for hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Current ACE inhibitors (ACEi) nonselectively inhibit both domains, causing adverse effects. Selective inhibition requires an understanding of domain‐specific binding.

Degradomics for large‐scale mechanistic insights on proteases and proteolysis in human health

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Proteolysis has an important role in human disease but remains relatively unexplored. Degradomics, the uncovering of proteolysis in tissues, cells, and proteins, uses mass spectrometry‐based terminomics to identify protein termini occurring therein (forward degradomics) and to define the actions of proteases (reverse degradomics).

A Lavandula angustifolia flower extract and dipeptide‐4 blend modulates oxidative, glycative, autophagic and circadian pathways in human skin models

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
The blend enhanced antioxidation, anti‐glycation, autophagy and circadian regulation in cell and skin models. Key markers included mitochondrial ROS, γ‐H2AX, AGEs, ATP, melatonin, LC3 and SOD. Significant improvements were visualized via fluorescence and quantified with statistical markers.

Synthesis of Dehydrodipeptide and N-ethyl-dehydrodipeptide Derivatives with an α-Aminoisobutyric Acid Residue [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Several dipeptides with an N-benzyloxycarbonyl or an N-(tert-butyloxycarbonyl) α-aminoisobutyric acid residue and a β-hydroxyamino acid methyl ester were subjected to dehydration to form dehydrodipeptide derivatives.

Comprehensive and Comparative Transcriptional Profiling of the Cell Wall Stress Response in Bacillus subtilis

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, EarlyView.
Transcriptional profiling of the primary cell envelope stress response (CESR) of Bacillus subtilis exposed to a range of cell wall‐targeting antimicrobials, combining RNAseq and high‐resolution tiling arrays. We revealed the complexity of the CESR, the contribution of extracytoplasmic function sigma factors (ECFs) and two‐component signal transduction ...
