Each month, subscribers to The Formulary Monograph Service receive 5 to 6 well-documented monographs on drugs that are newly released or are in late phase 3 trials. The monographs are targeted to Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees. Subscribers also receive monthly 1-page summary monographs on agents that are useful for agendas and pharmacy/nursing

Isopentenyl Diphosphate Isomerase. Mechanism-Based Inhibition by Diene Analogues of Isopentenyl Diphosphate and Dimethylallyl Diphosphate [PDF]
Isopentenyl diphosphate isomerase (IDI) catalyzes the interconversion of isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) and dimethylallyl diphosphate (DMAPP). This is an essential step in the mevalonate entry into the isoprenoid biosynthetic pathway. The isomerization catalyzed by type I IDI involves protonation of the carbon-carbon double bond in IPP or DMAPP to form ...

Investigation of Pyrophosphates KYP2O7Co-Doped with Lanthanide Ions Useful for Theranostics
Diphosphate compounds (KYP2O7) co-doped with Yb3+ and Er3+ ions were obtained by one step urea assisted combustion synthesis. The experimental parameters of synthesis were optimized using an experimental design approach related to co-dopants ...

Nucleoside Diphosphate Prodrugs [PDF]
Nucleoside analogs are widely applied in antiviral and antitumor therapy. A severe limitation of these compounds arises from the need of biotransformation to the eventually active nucleoside triphosphates by stepwise addition of phosphate by kinases. This problem can be circumvented by employing reversibly masked nucleotides (prodrugs).

Cloning and characterisation of chlorophyll synthase from Avena sativa [PDF]
The chlorophyll synthase gene from oat (Avena sativa) was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. The deduced amino acid sequence consists of 378 amino acids including a presequence, of 46 amino acids.

Structural and functional investigations of syn-copalyl diphosphate synthase from Oryza sativa
The large superfamily of labdane-related diterpenoids is defined by the cyclization of linear geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate (GGPP), catalyzed by copalyl diphosphate synthases (CPSs) to form the basic decalin core, the copalyl diphosphates (CPPs).

Lethal Mutagenesis of Picornaviruses with N-6-Modified Purine Nucleoside Analogues [PDF]
RNA viruses exhibit extraordinarily high mutation rates during genome replication. Nonnatural ribonucleosides that can increase the mutation rate of RNA viruses by acting as ambiguous substrates during replication have been explored as antiviral agents ...
