Feedback-Directed Metamorphic Testing

ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology, 2023
Over the past decade, metamorphic testing has gained rapidly increasing attention from both academia and industry, particularly thanks to its high efficacy on revealing real-life software faults in a wide variety of application domains. On the basis of a set of metamorphic relations among multiple software inputs and their expected outputs, metamorphic

Optimal Direct Velocity Feedback

Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2013
We present a novel approach to the problem of Direct Velocity Feedback (DVF) optimiza- tion of vibrational structures, which treats simultaneously small as well as large gains. For that purpose, we use two different approaches. The first one is based on the gains optimization using the Lyapunov equation.

Feedback directed implicit parallelism

ACM SIGPLAN Notices, 2007
In this paper we present an automated way of using spare CPU resources within a shared memory multi-processor or multi-core machine. Our approach is ( i ) to profile the execution of a program, ( ii ) from this to identify pieces of work which are promising sources of parallelism, (

Feedback-Directed Random Test Generation

29th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE'07), 2007
We present a technique that improves random test generation by incorporating feedback obtained from executing test inputs as they are created. Our technique builds inputs incrementally by randomly selecting a method call to apply and finding arguments from among previously-constructed inputs.

DIRECT FEEDBACK IN AUTOMATA NETWORKS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2005
Abstract This paper investigates the problem posed by direct feedback in automata networks. Such a feedback introduces a direct instantaneous depending of the input of a system upon itself through a signal path within the network. In continuous system theory such a feedback yields an algebraic loop, which may render the overall system ill-posed.

Feedback directed optimization of TCMalloc

Proceedings of the workshop on Memory Systems Performance and Correctness, 2014
TCMalloc [9] is an open-source memory allocator. Its use of thread-local caches of free objects enables most allocations/deallocations to be satisfied from thread-local heaps not requiring locks, making it a highly scalable memory allocator for multi-threaded applications.

Neural network application for direct feedback controllers

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, 1992
The author presents a learning algorithm and capabilities of perceptron-like neural networks whose outputs and inputs are directly connected to plants just like ordinary feedback controllers. This simple configuration includes the difficulty of teaching the network.
