Assessment of the revision of the 2025 CLSI breakpoints for the interpretation of minocycline susceptibility for Acinetobacter baumannii complex

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
To evaluate the revision to the 2025 Clinical and Laboratory Standard Institute (CLSI) breakpoints revision on the interpretation of minocycline for Acinetobacter baumannii complex, by comparing the minimum inhibitory concentrations obtained by broth ...

Comparison of Diameters of Disk Microelectrodes Obtained from Microscopes with Those Evaluated from Steady-State Currents

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2012
Diameters of disk microelectrodes evaluated from steady-state diffusion-controlled currents by use of Saito's equation were smaller than geometrical diameters obtained from a scanning electron microscope (SEM) when the diameters were less than 4 μm.

Simulating the Formation of Massive Protostars: I. Radiative Feedback and Accretion Disks

open access: yes, 2016
We present radiation hydrodynamic simulations of collapsing protostellar cores with initial masses of 30, 100, and 200 M$_{\odot}$. We follow their gravitational collapse and the formation of a massive protostar and protostellar accretion disk. We employ

Impact of Pre‐Oxidation Treatments on a Recycled MgO/Steel‐Composite as Carbon Free Anode in Aluminum‐Electrolysis Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cermets (60 vol.% AISI 316L stainless steel, 40 vol.% recycled MgO), intended for use in aluminum electrolysis, were pre‐oxidized in three furnaces with different heating technologies and subjected to a cryolite corrosion test. The different atmospheres influenced the formation of oxide layers, which in turn affected corrosion resistance and ...

DiSK: A Diffusion Model for Structured Knowledge

open access: yes, 2023
Structured (dictionary-like) data presents challenges for left-to-right language models, as they can struggle with structured entities for a wide variety of reasons such as formatting and sensitivity to the order in which attributes are presented. Tabular generative models suffer from a different set of limitations such as their lack of flexibility. We

Parameter Variation in Planetary Ball Milling of Titanium Aluminide Powder in XHV‐Adequate Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the effects of milling parameters, including rotational speed, milling duration, and ball‐to‐powder ratio, on TiAl particle size and morphology in an XHV‐equivalent atmosphere. The creation of oxide‐free surfaces enhances the mechanical properties of green bodies.

Particle Acceleration in Advection-Dominated Accretion Disks with Shocks: Green's Function Energy Distribution

open access: yes, 2009
The distribution function describing the acceleration of relativistic particles in an advection-dominated accretion disk is analyzed using a transport formalism that includes first-order Fermi acceleration, advection, spatial diffusion, and the escape of

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.
