A beneficial effect of a novel DKK1 monoclonal antibody and its sequential alendronate on bone and muscle properties of orchiectomized mice

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Translation
Background: Insights into basic bone biology and genetic disorders have led to advances in the treatment of osteoporosis. However, new drugs for the treatment of osteoporosis in men remain insufficient.

Expression of DKK1 in human NSCLC cell lines.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) Expression of DKK1 on mRNA level (RT-PCR: 28 cycles of amplification). GAPDH mRNA was used as the internal control. (B) Expression of DKK1 on protein level. β-actin was used as the internal control.

Suppression of Wnt Signaling by Dkk1 Attenuates PTH-Mediated Stromal Cell Response and New Bone Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
SummaryParathyroid hormone (PTH) suppresses Dickkopf 1 (Dkk1) expression in osteoblasts. To determine whether this suppression is essential for PTH-mediated Wnt signaling and bone formation, we examined mice that overexpress Dkk1 in osteoblasts (Dkk1 ...

Elevated DKK1 expression distinguishes basal-like human breast cancer.

open access: yes, 2022
Patients diagnosed with basal-like breast cancer face a more aggressive disease course and more dismal prognosis than patients diagnosed with luminal A and luminal B breast cancer molecular subtypes (1-4).

Beyond Deterministic Fetal Programming: Intrauterine Exposures and the Multifactorial Origins of Adiposity

open access: yesObesity Reviews, Volume 27, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Excess adiposity is not a recently developed problem but has existed since at least the upper Paleolithic, allowing evolutionary selection pressures to adapt the physiology of the pregnant woman and the feto‐placental unit for maternal and fetal protection.

Dynamic Remodeling of Oocyte‐Granulosa Cell Communication During Bovine Folliculogenesis Revealed by Transcriptomic Meta‐Analyses

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 18, 30 September 2026.
Bidirectional communication between oocytes and granulosa cells undergoes progressive remodeling during bovine folliculogenesis. Integrative transcriptomic analysis identified stage‐specific ligand‐receptor signaling networks coordinating structural, metabolic, and developmental processes.

Effects of DKK1 knockdown in LTEP-a-2 cell.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) RT-PCR and Western blot analysis of the DKK1 expression. DKK1 level in LTEP-a-2 cell transfected with pSilencer-DKK1 is significantly lower than that in pSilencer-NC and blank control group. (B) The wounded and healing LTEP-a-2 cells. (C) Measurement

Expanded Hepatic Progenitor Cells Featured with Aggregation of α‐Synuclein Contribute to Pathologic Bile Duct Regeneration in Biliary Atresia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 50, 7 September 2026.
Expanded NCAM1+EpCAM+ hepatic progenitor cells in biliary atresia are characterized by aggregation of α‐synuclein. This pathological protein potentiates cellular susceptibility to GSH‐dependent redox dyshomeostasis, induces unstable biliary cell fate specification, and subsequently drives aberrant biliary regeneration.

MiR-613 inhibits proliferation and invasion and induces apoptosis of rheumatoid arthritis synovial fibroblasts by direct down-regulation of DKK1

open access: yesCellular & Molecular Biology Letters, 2019
Background This study aimed to investigate the effects of miR-613 on the proliferation, invasion and apoptosis of rheumatoid arthritis synovial fibroblasts (RASFs). Methods Synovial tissue samples were collected from 20 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients

DKK1 and Kremen Expression Predicts the Osteoblastic Response to Bone Metastasis

open access: yesTranslational Oncology, 2018
Bone metastasis is a complication of advanced breast and prostate cancer. Tumor-secreted Dickkopf homolog 1 (DKK1), an inhibitor of canonical Wnt signaling and osteoblast differentiation, was proposed to regulate the osteoblastic response to metastatic ...
