Self‐Doped Perylene Diimide‐Based Polymers for Simultaneous Improvements in Efficiency and Thermal Stability of Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
PPV‐M, an amorphous electron transporting polymer with a high Tg of 118°C, suppresses thermally induced molecular diffusion in organic solar cells. Unlike crystalline PDINN (Tg = 61°C) with a T80 of only 8 h, PPV‐M maintains efficient electron extraction and extends T80 to 637 h, representing an 80‐fold enhancement in thermal stability.

Tuning the Length of Filomicelles Prepared Via Templated Polymerization‐Induced Self‐Assembly

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
High‐aspect‐ratio polymeric micelles are attractive yet notoriously difficult to control in length. We reveal a counterintuitive and powerful solution: in supramolecularly templated PISA, adding non‐sticker polymer unexpectedly elongates the micelles, while post‐assembly sonication enables precise shortening with reduced dispersity.

Unveiling Van Der Waals Forces and Associated Hamaker Constants Across the Nanomaterial Landscape With Advanced Atomic Force Microscopy

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Van der Waals interactions are reviewed through the lens of advanced atomic force microscopy, highlighting recent progress in nanoscale quantification of Hamaker constants. Emerging methodologies enable high‐resolution mapping of intermolecular forces in 2D materials and biological systems, bridging experimental measurements with quantum‐informed ...

Chemical Recycling as a Tool for Enabling a Second Life for Polyesters

open access: yesSusMat, EarlyView.
This review presents the elucidation of the life cycle of main polyesters, detailing end‐of‐life methods, with focus of solvolysis technologies, then an analysis of LCA and TEA on literature data, an original data analytic, and, finally, a current industrial mapping of the main processes with a critical perspective on the plastic life‐cycle ecosystem ...

Sulfasalazine Enhances Copper Toxicity in Danio rerio Larvae: Divergent Protective Roles of Deferoxamine and Ferrostatin‐1

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Copper is an environmental contaminant capable of disrupting redox homeostasis and impairing antioxidant defenses in aquatic organisms, thereby increasing susceptibility to oxidative stress. The cystine/glutamate antiporter (system xc−) plays a central role in maintaining intracellular glutathione (GSH) levels, a major antioxidant defense ...
