Cystic Neoplasms of the Pancreas

Archives of Surgery, 1995
To review the classification, clinical behavior, and appropriate therapy for cystic neoplasms of the pancreas. We examined patient demographics, clinical parameters, preoperative imaging modalities, histologic findings, and tumor DNA content to determine which best predict outcome.Case series and survey of pathologic specimens.Tertiary care center ...

[The roles of DNA methylation in human neoplasms].

Ai zheng = Aizheng = Chinese journal of cancer, 2005
Recent data suggested that cancer appears to be a process that is fuelled both by genetic alterations and by epigenetic mechanisms. Epigenetics refer to the study of changes in gene expression that can be mitotically inherited, but is not associated with the changes in the coding sequence of the affected genes.

DNA quantification and ploidy patterns in human adrenocortical neoplasms.

Endocrine Research, 1998
The determination of DNA ploidy and the study of the cell cycle in adrenocortical tumoral cells could help in the distinction between benign and malignant lesions and also in the prediction of the biological behaviour of these tumors. We analysed 32 cases of adrenal tissue (8 normal adrenals--N, 12 benign adenomas--A and 12 carcinomas--C).

[Detecting HPV DNA in tissue of epidermal neoplasms].

Zhongguo yi xue ke xue yuan xue bao. Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae, 1999
Fifty-eight cases (mean age 56.1 +/- 17.1 years) of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma were studied, including 17 cases of Bowen's disease, 5 cases of Queyrat erythroplasia, 16 cases of Bowenoid papulosis and 20 cases of invasive cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. All cases were confirmed by pathological findings.

False DNA aneuploidy in canine and human neoplasms.

Anticancer research, 1994
In most cases, the appearance of aneuploid peaks in DNA histograms may be an artefact of tissue preparation or it may reflect non-stoichiometric dye binding of a cellular subpopulation rather than true DNA aneuploidy. This report reviews how false DNA aneuploidy can be recognized and eliminated from sample submitted for DNA flow cytometric analysis.

Flow Cytometric Analysis of DNA Content in Thyroid Neoplasms

2002
Flow cytometry (FCM) is a rapid, objective, reproducible method of making a quantitative assessment of cellular deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) content (DNA-ploidy status) and the proliferative potential of neoplastic cells expressed as the fraction of cells in the flow S-phase fraction (SPF) of the cell cycle.

Feulgen DNA cytophotometry in histologic sections of mammary neoplasms.

Analytical and quantitative cytology, 1984
Because of a lack of suitable archival material, it is rarely possible to make retrospective studies of the correlation between the prognosis for a patient with mammary carcinoma and the distribution of nuclear DNA in the cells of the neoplasm. An investigation of the possibility of using sections cut from paraffin-embedded specimens showed that such ...
