[DNA index and bronchopulmonary neoplasms].
Minerva medica, 1993The authors take into consideration 40 cases of lung neoplasms in order to see the relationship between DNA index examined by image analysis, and histological grading we deduced from the results that DNA index agrees with the grading and better points out the biological pattern of the neoplasm, beharing differently in each histological type.

Uterine stromal neoplasms: A clinicopathologic and DNA flow cytometric correlation
Human Pathology, 1991Twenty-five uterine stromal neoplasms (five stromal nodules and 12 low-grade and eight high-grade stromal sarcomas) were studied to determine the correlation between clinicopathologic features, flow cytometric tumor DNA content and proliferative fraction, and patient outcome.

DNA mapping of colorectal neoplasms: A flow cytometric study of DNA abnormalities and proliferation
Gastroenterology, 1993There is some evidence that neoplastic development and progression evolve through a multistep process associated with hyperproliferation and genetic alterations. Therefore, changes of proliferation and of cellular DNA content within the adenoma-carcinoma sequence were studied.Using a "mapping" procedure, 12 adenomas and 18 carcinomas were analyzed flow

DNA quantification and ploidy patterns in human adrenocortical neoplasms.
Endocrine Research, 1998The determination of DNA ploidy and the study of the cell cycle in adrenocortical tumoral cells could help in the distinction between benign and malignant lesions and also in the prediction of the biological behaviour of these tumors. We analysed 32 cases of adrenal tissue (8 normal adrenals--N, 12 benign adenomas--A and 12 carcinomas--C).

[Detecting HPV DNA in tissue of epidermal neoplasms].
Zhongguo yi xue ke xue yuan xue bao. Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae, 1999Fifty-eight cases (mean age 56.1 +/- 17.1 years) of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma were studied, including 17 cases of Bowen's disease, 5 cases of Queyrat erythroplasia, 16 cases of Bowenoid papulosis and 20 cases of invasive cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. All cases were confirmed by pathological findings.

False DNA aneuploidy in canine and human neoplasms.
Anticancer research, 1994In most cases, the appearance of aneuploid peaks in DNA histograms may be an artefact of tissue preparation or it may reflect non-stoichiometric dye binding of a cellular subpopulation rather than true DNA aneuploidy. This report reviews how false DNA aneuploidy can be recognized and eliminated from sample submitted for DNA flow cytometric analysis.

Modal DNA content of human intracranial neoplasms studied by flow cytometry
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1980✓ The relative DNA content in 56 human intracranial tumors was investigated by flow cytometry and correlated to their histological type. Tumors with a modal DNA content within the diploid value (2c) ± ½c were divided from those with heteroploidy. Of the “benign non-neuroepithelial tumors,” the meningiomas (five), neurilemomas (two), pituitary adenomas (

DNA Ploidy in Testicular Germ Cell Neoplasms Histogenetic and Clinical Implications
The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1992Flow cytometry was used to determine the DNA ploidy pattern of 148 testicular germ cell neoplasms (seminomas and nonseminomas in pure and mixed histologic phenotypes) and in situ carcinoma (CIS) adjacent to these tumors. The great majority (96.0%) manifested aneuploid DNA contents with minimal intratumoral heterogeneity (2.5%). The mean DNA indices (DI)

Detection of human papillomavirus DNA in benign and malignant sinonasal neoplasms
Cancer Letters, 2006Infections with human papillomaviruses are divided basically into three different infection types: those producing specific clinically visible lesions, those remaining subclinical, and those being latent. The assumed infection type thought to be present in tissue specimens has influence on the conclusions that can be made from an analysis, i.e. whether

[The roles of DNA methylation in human neoplasms].
Ai zheng = Aizheng = Chinese journal of cancer, 2005Recent data suggested that cancer appears to be a process that is fuelled both by genetic alterations and by epigenetic mechanisms. Epigenetics refer to the study of changes in gene expression that can be mitotically inherited, but is not associated with the changes in the coding sequence of the affected genes.
