Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Synthesis of multi-purpose fluoropolymer- and polyaniline-containing nanocomposites and their use in bioseparation, bioanalysis and diagnostics

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2011
Traditional and improved methods of producing composite supports modified with nanolayers of fluoropolymers and polyanilines are reviewed. The methods provide the localization of the polymerization process at the surface layers of the carrier and ...

Komparasi Metode Isolasi DNA Patogen Antraknosa dan Bulai untuk Deteksi PCR

open access: yesJurnal Fitopatologi Indonesia, 2016
Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is an important tool for detection, identification and monitoring of quarantine pests in Indonesia. DNA isolation method from target organism is an important step to provide adequate DNA template for performing PCR ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Differential Requirements for MCM Proteins in DNA Replication in Drosophila S2 Cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
BACKGROUND: The MCM2-7 proteins are crucial components of the pre replication complex (preRC) in eukaryotes. Since they are significantly more abundant than other preRC components, we were interested in determining whether the entire cellular content was

Optimized Protocol For DNA Extraction from Human Whole Blood

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry
Background/Aims: DNA isolation is the initial process in genetic research. The product is used in many PCR reactions (PCR-RFLP, Real-Time PCR, multiplex PCR). That is why it is important to optimize DNA isolation protocol to obtain a good quality of DNA.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Comparison of different DNA isolation methods and use of dodecyle trimethyl ammonium bromide (DTAB) for the isolation of DNA from meat products

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Veterinary and Animal Research, 2016
Objective: The identification of meat species in meat products is important for protection of human health, economic reasons, religious factors and for controlling the compliance with food regulations.

Circular DNA in Isolated Chromoplasts

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung C, 1974
Abstract Flower chromoplasts of Narcissus pseudonarcissus have been isolated in high purity and inte grity by a new procedure. From these chromoplasts circular DNA molecules in supercoiled form have been isolated and demonstrated by electron microscopy to have a contour length of about 44 μm (molecular weight about 92 x 106 daltons)
