Label-free detection of Cu(2+) and Hg(2+) ions using reconstructed Cu(2+)-specific DNAzyme and G-quadruplex DNAzyme. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Label-free metal ion detection methods were developed. To achieve these, a reconstructed Cu(2+)-specific DNA-cleaving DNAzyme (Cu(2+)-specific DNAzyme) with an intramolecular stem-loop structure was used.

On-site detection of fish furunculosis by combining DNAzyme and carboxyl-functionalized graphene

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2022
Furunculosis, which is caused by Aeromonas salmonicida, can induce septicemia, leading to the rapid death of fishes belonging to Salmonidae, Cyprinidae, and Fuscheridae, and lamprey. Targeting A.

Entropy-driven catalysis triggered dual-DNAzyme-arms powered DNA walking platform for simple, sensitive, and enzyme-free microRNA analysis

open access: yesSensors and Actuators Reports
Conventional unipedal DNA walkers suffer from several limitations of low efficiency. In contrast, multipedal DNA walkers, which often operate freely beyond the loading surface, may exhibit reduced amplification efficiency due to uncontrolled movement. To

Mechanozyme: An Artificial Enzyme With a Mechanophore Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical destabilization of a G‐quadruplex mechanophore in a DNAzyme markedly boosts its catalytic activity, demonstrating “mechanozymes” as artificial enzymes whose functions are modulated by mechanical stress exerted by ultrasonication. This mechanozyme principle is broadly applicable to control biomolecular activities.

Visual detection of lead(II) using a label-free DNA-based sensor and its immobilization within a monolithic hydrogel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Lead is highly toxic and its detection has attracted a lot of research interests. In recent years, DNA has been used for Pb2+ recognition and many fluorescent sensors with low to sub-nM detection limits have been reported.

Allosteric DNAzyme‐Enabled Sensitive and Multiplex Detection of Biomarkers for Rapid Diagnosis of Urinary Tract Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A catalytic allosteric DNAzyme assay (SMART) is developed by engineering DNAzyme into a unimolecular biosensor, enabling highly sensitive and multiplex detection of small molecules and nucleic acids. SMART enables extraction‐free, one‐pot, one‐step, isothermal, and cost‐effective detection of biological markers, achieving >95% accuracy for rapid ...

Target recycling product-bridged DNAzyme walker for sensitive detection of microRNA

open access: yesJournal of Analytical Science and Technology
The precise and sensitive detection of miRNA is significant for assessing infectious illnesses, particularly pneumonia. However, constrained by the low abundance of miRNA in samples, the majority of miRNA detection approaches employing a one-to-one ...
