Liver Haemorrhagic Syndrome in Broilers: Its Effect on Serum Parameters, Antioxidant Capacity, Liver Enzymes and Fatty Acid Profile of Liver

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
ABSTRACT This study sought to evaluate the occurrence of various degrees of liver haemorrhagic syndrome (LHS) in broilers subjected to commercial rearing conditions. The objective was to investigate the influence of lesion scores on various biochemical parameters.

Growth, Carcass Traits, Blood Chemistry and Gut Microbiota in Broiler Chickens Fed Diets Enriched With Garden Cress Seed Powder as a Natural Growth Enhancer

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
The present study aimed to show the influence of garden cress seed powder (GCSP) as a natural growth promoter and antioxidant agent in broiler diets on growth performance, carcass characteristics, microbial load and blood traits. Three experimental groups received 210 1‐day‐old broiler chicks (Arbor Acres) in an experiment with a completely randomized ...

Role of Inflammatory and Proresolving Mediators in Endothelial Dysfunction

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 136, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Excessive local inflammation is a common mechanism in many cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) such as hypertension, atherosclerosis and aortic aneurysms. In endothelial cells, inflammatory cytokines such as interferons, tumour necrosis factor alpha or interleukins increase oxidative stress and contractile prostanoids and the expression of adhesion

Unraveling the Interplay Between Metabolism and Neurodevelopment in Health and Disease

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 5, May 2025.
Neurodevelopment is orchestrated by precise metabolic regulation. Key metabolic processes—glucose, lipid, and amino acid metabolism—drive cell proliferation, differentiation, synaptogenesis, and neurotransmitter synthesis. These are tightly integrated with signaling pathways like mTOR, AMPK, and insulin/IGF that regulate neuronal growth and synaptic ...

BAP1 Loss Affords Lipotoxicity Resistance in Uveal Melanoma

open access: yesPigment Cell &Melanoma Research, Volume 38, Issue 3, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Uveal melanoma (UM) is an aggressive intraocular malignancy. Despite effective control of primary tumors, ~50% of UM patients develop metastases, with the liver being the predominant secondary site. BAP1 deficiency, present in ~80% of metastatic UM cases, is strongly associated with increased metastatic risk and poor prognosis.
