DPPH Radical Scavenging Activity of Kaempferol
Advanced Materials Research, 2013The UV-Vis absorption spectrum of kaempferol and DPPH was investigated, the optimum determination wavelength and reaction time for determining the DPPH radical scavenging activity of kaempferol was 517 nm and 30 min, respectively. Kaempferol exhibited strong DPPH radical scavenging activity with a IC50 value of 0.004349 mg·mL-1, which is smaller than ...

DPPH Radical Scavenging Reaction of Hydroxy- and Methoxychalcones
Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 2006The DPPH radical scavenging activity of 2',4',6'-trihydroxy- and 2'-hydroxy-4',6'-dimethoxychalcones carrying a 2,3- and 3,4-dihydroxylated, and 3,4,5-trihydroxylated B-ring was evaluated in alcoholic and non-alcoholic solvents. All test compounds scavenged more than two equivalent of radicals by a possible conversion to the corresponding B-ring ...

High-Throughput Relative DPPH Radical Scavenging Capacity Assay
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2006A high-throughput relative 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging capacity (RDSC) assay was developed and validated in the present study. This RDSC assay is easy to perform and has acceptable accuracy (90-110% recovery), precision [3.9-7.0% pooled relative standard deviation (RSD)], and reproducibility (2.2 and 3.5% interday and ...

X-ray Photoelectron Spectra of DPPH and Diphenylpicrylhydrazine
Nature Physical Science, 1971THE technique of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (ESCA) is already proving to be a valuable new tool for investigating a variety of problems in chemistry and physics. It entails direct measurement of the binding energies of electrons in the inner shells of the atoms in a molecule and the results have revealed the existence of a chemical shift1–3.

g-Tensor anisotropy of DPPH in DPPH2
Journal of Magnetic Resonance (1969), 1976The ESR spectra of polycrystalline samples of the free radical 2-2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl in dilute concentration in the hydrazine are studied to determine the anisotropy of the g-tensor and the orientation of its symmetry axis. A satisfactory fit to the experimental spectrum is obtained with the hyperfine tensors as given by Holmberg, Livingston ...

Adaptation of DPPH Method for Antioxidant Determination
ECS Transactions, 2011Antioxidants are indispensable molecules that help prevent biomolecule oxidation. By fighting the production of free radicals, antioxidants prevent different ageing-associated diseases. In this work, the method of 2,2-diphenyl-2-picrilhydracil (DPPH) is adapted to determine antioxidants in different cosmetic, nutritional, and biological samples using ...

Low temperature magnetic properties of solid DPPH
Physica B+C, 1977Abstract Magnetic susceptibility measurements are performed on DPPH-benzene complex and solvent-free DPPH in a temperature range of 300-2.2 K and in a field range of 6–20 kOe. The experimental values are quite different in these two cases and a pair model with a singlet-triplet state is proposed.

E.S.R. of Irradiated DPPH Protected by Polystyrene
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1961The number of electrons in diphenylpicryl hydrazl with polystyrene under gamma -irradiation was studied. It is shown from comparison of experimental and theoretical data that there is not only a shielding effect of polystyrene but also a protection mechanism.
