The influence of drawing speed on structure changes in high carbon steel wires

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2015
In the paper the influence of the drawing speed on structure changes has been assessed. The Scanning Electron Microscope investigation confirmed that for wires drawn with high total draft, exceeding 80 %, makes it impossible to clearly assess the impact ...

Drawing from hats by noise-based logic

open access: yes, 2016
We utilize the asymmetric random telegraph wave-based instantaneous noise-base logic scheme to represent the problem of drawing numbers from a hat, and we consider two identical hats with the first 2^N integer numbers.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

The Influence of the Angle of the Working Part of the Die on the High Speed Drawing Process of Low Carbon Steel Wires

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2017
The paper contains the theoretical and experimental analysis of the impact of the drawing angle on the drawing process and the properties of low carbon steel wires. A multi-stage drawing wire rod with a diameter of 5.5 mm on a wire with a diameter of 1.0

The Perceptual Experience Of Slope By Foot And By Finger [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Historically, the bodily senses have often been regarded as impeccable sources of spatial information and as being the teacher of vision. Here, the authors report that the haptic perception of slope by means of the foot is greatly exaggerated.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Experimental Study on Fine Titanium Wire Drawing with Two Ultrasonically Oscillating Dies

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper investigates the influences of ultrasonic vibration on the two-pass titanium wire drawing process through experiments conducted at different drawing speeds (99–480 mm/s) and under various ultrasonic amplitudes (5.63– $13.97~\mu ...
