Drying kinetics and energy efficiency of microwave-dried lemon slices [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly, 2022
In the current study, lemon slices were dried at various microwave powers (120, 350, 460, 600, and 700 W) to determine drying characteristics and energy efficiency. Drying rate and time were significantly affected by the increase in microwave power.

Hot Air Drying of Seabuckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) Berries: Effects of Different Pretreatment Methods on Drying Characteristics and Quality Attributes

open access: yesFoods, 2022
Seabuckthorn berries are difficult to dry because the outermost surface is covered with a dense wax layer, which prevents moisture transfer during the drying process. In this study, uses of ultrasonic-assisted alkali (UA), pricking holes in the skin (PH)

Microwave Drying Characteristics of Parsley

open access: yesBiosystems Engineering, 2004
Parsley (Petroslinum crispum Mill.) leaves were dried in a domestic microwave oven to determine the effects of microwave output power on drying time, drying rate and the dried product quality in terms of colour. Seven different microwave output powers ranging from 360 to 900 W were used in the drying experiments.
