Quality and Process Optimization of Infrared Combined Hot Air Drying of Yam Slices Based on BP Neural Network and Gray Wolf Algorithm

open access: yesFoods
In this paper, the effects on drying time (Y1), the color difference (Y2), unit energy consumption (Y3), polysaccharide content (Y4), rehydration ratio (Y5), and allantoin content (Y6) of yam slices were investigated under different drying temperatures ...

Effects of Drying Conditions on Hot-air Drying Characteristics and Quality of Goji Berries

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji
This study investigated the quality of goji berries by analyzing the effects of three drying temperatures (40, 50, and 60 ℃), immersion pretreatments in sodium carbonate, sodium sulfite, and citric acid solutions, and staged temperature variations on ...

Drying Characteristics and Quality Analysis of Jasmine with Combined Microwave and Hot Air Drying

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2022
In this paper, the effects of three kinds of microwave (MVD, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 min) and hot air (HAD) drying at 60 ℃ on the drying characteristics and quality of jasmine were compared and analyzed. The results showed that in microwave drying stage, the water

The Thin-layer Drying Characteristics of Rosehip

open access: yesBiosystems Engineering, 2004
In this study, the influence of air temperature, velocity and humidity on the thin-layer drying of rosehip was investigated. A laboratory air drier was designed and used for drying experiments. The system was operated in an air temperature range of 50–80°C, air velocity range of 1·67–3·10 m s−1 and air absolute humidity range of 0·005–0·08 kg [vapour ...

High Hydrostatic Pressure Pretreatments Regulating Drying Characteristics, Texture Quality, and Pectin Fractions Content of Yam Slices

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji
In order to investigate the effects of high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) pretreatments on the drying characteristics and qualities of yam slices, HHP (100~600 MPa) pretreatments were employed prior to drying process.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
